Job Purpose: 

  • The VP, Applied Analytics is a newly created leadership role that will span Distribution and Marketing reporting into the SVP, Client Insights and Analytics
  • The individual in this role should be adept at managing and understanding, attitudinal, behavioral (digital) and transactional (non-digital) data sets
  • The VP, Applied Analytics would be responsible for managing a team of analysts, technology platforms, vendors and an offshore reporting team
  • This individual will work closely with data scientists, data engineers and internal stakeholders to help develop, deploy and operationalize analytical models for the Distribution and Marketing organization
  • This position requires deep domain knowledge on Mutual Funds/ETF marketing and distribution, Business Intelligence, Digital Analytics and business savvy to work within a corporate environment, to sell ideas, marshal resources and drive end-to-end execution
  • We are looking for a hands-on analytics leader who is passionate about leveraging data to deliver value for OFI’s distribution and marketing initiatives.

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Manage, develop and motivate a team of six analysts to create relevant and actionable reports that will directly impact key performance indicators within Distribution and Marketing
  • Lead efforts to deepen our knowledge of clients, advisors and shareholders (drivers, gaps, and opportunities) via transaction data, vendor research, web data, email data, phone calls, surveys/questionnaires, flow information, etc
  • Partner closely with colleagues in Technology to develop and deploy appropriate business requirements to track client and shareholder data via CRM, profiling, sales, web, etc
  • Evaluate, select and manage external vendors for specific analysis projects, an offshore reporting team and implementation of digital analytics software, e.g. Adobe Sitecatalyst, etc
  • Lead the data effort to map and connect the entire client and shareholder journey from awareness, consideration, purchase and retention
  • Consult with Distribution and Marketing stakeholders on metrics to track and measure the ROI and LTV of various initiatives
  • Drive reporting standardization across Distribution and Marketing
  • Institutionalize learnings from Distribution and Marketing initiatives and provide a framework for ongoing execution and measurement of all sales and marketing initiatives
  • Provide thought leadership and use data as a strategic asset to drive innovation for the firm
  • Create a system of shared accountability via reporting and analytics dashboards, supporting key business KPIs and distributing actionable intelligence to both senior management and working teams within Distribution and Marketing
  • Promote a data-driven culture within Distribution and Marketing by providing regular insights/analysis on marketing campaign performance leveraging attribution models, market opportunity and portfolio/product gap analysis and sales through the various distribution channels.

Skills and Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor of Science in statistics, applied mathematics, economics, or other quantitative or analytical fields, MS/MBA preferred
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in the asset management industry; in-depth knowledge of mutual fund distribution and data analytics is essential
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in digital analytics, optimization and segmentation
  • Expertise with digital analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe SiteCatalyst, etc.) and the ability to advise on the solution design
  • Experience with tag management solutions (e.g. Tealium, Adobe DTM, GTM, etc.)
  • Experience working with data packs like Market Metrics and BrightScope a strong plus
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Domo)
  • Working Knowledge of A/B and multivariate testing tools and methodologies (e.g. Adobe Target, Optimizely, Maximizer, etc.)
  • Knowledge of DMP’s and/ or CDP’s (e.g. Adobe Audience Manager, BlueKai, Krux, Adobe Aggregate Knowledge, etc.) a plus
  • Knowledge of ETL and data prep tools (e.g. Alteryx, Talend, Informatica, etc.) a plus
  • Knowledge of SQL and statistical analytics packages (e.g. R, Python, SAS, SPSS, etc.)
  • Conceptual knowledge of supervised, unsupervised and reinforced learning algorithms (e.g. Decision Trees, Clustering, Gradient Boosting, Random Forrest, Neural Nets, NLP, etc.)
  • A passion around team development, coaching, mentoring and providing timely feedback. You must be an excellent motivator, with a high energy level
  • Intellectually curious and the ability to drive innovation inside the organization
  • Strong vendor management skills with the ability to negotiate and manage budgets
  • A track record of strong execution/ delivery and ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Ability to execute quickly, yet partner and create consensus with cross-functional teams
  • Have a consultative and client-centric approach with internal stakeholders
    Exceptional skills at building and presenting data in a format that is easily understood and digested by internal stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience working with senior executives and the ability to communicate technical/complex ideas across varied audiences.
