Job Purpose:

  • The team is responsible for developing original research, market insights, and educational materials for financial advisors, self-directed investors, and senior internal stakeholders regarding the firm’s more than sixty ETFs
  • This is a high visibility role that will report to the Head of Research & Strategy and will be responsible for regularly researching and developing written research content and delivering live presentations and webinars.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Regularly develop research content for www.globalxetfs.com/research that is insightful, engaging, original, and accurate. Such research includes insights, reports, and webinars on technology and consumer-related topics such as robotics, artificial intelligence, fintech, the internet of things, cloud computing, and more
  • Become a functional expert in thematic investing and participate in calls, in-person meetings, and branch presentations to educate financial advisors on our thematic suite of ETFs
  • Update the broader Global X team (including senior leadership and members of the sales team) on news and information affecting our funds and the general markets
  • Apply knowledge of technology and global markets to identify trends and patterns for informing new ETF-investment ideas
  • Conduct attribution analyses on Global X’s ETFs to understand key macro- and micro-drivers of fund performance
  • Support portfolio managers and financial advisors regarding incorporating thematic ETFs into portfolios
  • Utilize research tools that include Bloomberg, Factset, and Morningstar Direct to influence the origination of research ideas and analyses.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong background in financial research and analysis
  • 2-5 years’ experience working in ETF or equity research, investment banking, venture capital, or management consulting, with exposure to emerging technologies and/or consumer trends
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or related fields
  • Keen and demonstrated interest in disruptive technologies
  • Adept at synthesizing and concisely communicating nuanced ideas to investors and senior leadership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (writing sample will be requested)
  • Excel at working in a dynamic environment balancing multiple projects
  • Exemplify the Global X client-first culture; believe in and use team-based thinking and execution
  • Progress towards CFA designation preferred
  • Experience using financial software (Bloomberg, Factset, or Morningstar Direct), including Excel APIs
  • Series 7/63 (will be required within first few months of start date).
