Job Purpose:
- PIMCO’s Global Wealth Management (GWM) team is looking for an ETF Sales Account Manager to join the team responsible for growing PIMCO’s ETF business
- PIMCO has seen strong inflows in its UCITs ETF range since the firm first entered the European ETF market in 2011
- Today, PIMCO is the leading provider of actively managed fixed income ETFs with over $30bn across its global ETF platform including $9bn across its European domiciled ETFs
- This is an opportunity to join an ambitious team in the early stages of expanding PIMCO’s already successful ETF franchise
- The ideal candidate will not only be responsible for generating sales directly, and in partnership with, PIMCO’s distribution team, but also for playing a pivotal role in the development of PIMCO’s ETF distribution system
- As such, the candidate must be a true team player with outstanding sales skills, ETF expertise, strong ability to collaborate, and an advanced understanding of the evolving financial advisory business.
Your Responsibilities:
- Generate and retain assets within PIMCO’s ETF platform
- Work with PIMCO management to formulate, execute and accomplish a territory business plan that adheres to the guiding principles of keeping a long term perspective and maintaining a consultative sales approach
- Use robust sales and asset data to identify ETF opportunities within the institutional and wealth management market as well as coordinated coverage with Regional Account Managers
- Partner with other account managers to support sophisticated and complex relationships
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of PIMCO’s products, platforms, themes, initiatives, markets, strategies, and policies
- Maintain the highest level of compliance with all industry, client firm, and PIMCO regulations
- Schedule, conduct and follow-up on activities in line with set goals. Activities include group, one on one, educational seminars and client entertainment
- Build and maintain a productive working relationship with key regional ETF centers of influence
- Comply with all travel and expense reimbursement and detailed activity reporting in a timely manner.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills for group and individual sales presentations
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills required to build meaningful and long-term relationships with financial advisors
- A good understanding of ETF’s and the various replication models by which they carry their investment objective across the board from synthetic to physical replication
- Detailed knowledge of ETF ecosystem to present PIMCO products in a consultative manner based on client needs
- An understanding of UCITS regulations and guidance notes with respect to the management of the assets of ETF funds
- Self-starter, ability to work within the firm’s demanding and highly focused environment
- Excellent partnership skills
- Fluent in English; Fluency in additional European languages highly desirable
- Professional experience in European countries desirable
- MBA degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics or a related, quantitative/analytical field from an accredited, leading business school or university, or other equivalent Advanced Degree as it relates to the position
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) desig nation, or willingness to pursue upon joining.
