Job Purpose:
- Opportunity to join the Equity Synthetics and Securities Lending (ESSL) business as a junior trader on the delta one index desk
- ESSL is a market maker in delta one products, including swaps, options, futures, warrants and certificates on single-names, ETFs, baskets, indices and dividends, collectively known as “equity synthetics”.
Your Responsibilities:
- Help drive platform enhancements to facilitate growth of automated delta one listed market making strategies
- Work closely with other traders, trading strategists, platform and technologists
- Work with other members of the desk on signals, strategies and code, back-test and create visualisations of results
- Work with other traders, platform and QSG to build out trading tools to enhance automation and enable further scale
- Day-to-day responsibilities as member of trading desk
- Commensurate with experience, book ownership responsibilities.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Educated to MSc level or higher in a technical field (Mathematics/Economics)
- Desire to be part of a fast-growing segment of the Equity trading business (delta one)
- Experience working in financial services in a trading / trading strategy capacity
- Mathematical and quantitative research background
- Technology skills: i) C++ work experience; ii) KDB and knowledge to work with large scale time series data; iii) R, Matlab, Python know-how in particular to visualise data sets
- Systematic trading background preferred – buyside or sellside
- Meticulous attention to detail, diligence and conscientiousness
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Entrepreneurial and capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals.
