The gameplay of GeoGuessr is simple to understand but surprisingly deep. At the beginning of each round, players are placed in a random location somewhere in the world. Using Street View navigation, they can move around roads and explore nearby areas to search for clues.
Players must examine everything carefully, including:
- Road signs
- Languages
- Car license plates
- Road markings
- Mountains and landscapes
- Traffic directions
- Building styles
- Vegetation and weather
After collecting enough clues, players place a marker on the world map to guess their location. The closer the guess is to the real location, the more points they earn.
The challenge becomes more exciting because some locations are filled with helpful clues, while others are remote areas with almost no information. This creates a perfect balance between strategy, observation, and geographical knowledge.
