Job Purpose:
- The Product Manager is responsible for managing the entire life cycle of an assigned set of exchange-traded funds
- This embodies developing new fund offerings, improving existing offerings to increase profitability and strengthen competitive positioning, and developing creative and effective marketing communications programs
- The Product Manager also serves as the internal and external evangelist for their product set, proactively working with sales, key customers, and the media
- The Product Manager drives product positioning and go-to-market strategies drawing on their experience in the financial industry, including knowledge of different distribution channels, and investment acumen
- This is a highly visible role that relies on strong-project management skills to lead cross-functional teams and the successful individual will be a positive and creative thinker with excellent oral and written communication skills
Your Responsibilities:
- Champion assigned product set internally and externally by proactively delivering insightful communications and being available for sales training, sales support, conference presentations, and media inquiries
- Provide ongoing assessments of funds, suggesting changes were appropriate by monitoring investor trends by channel, market performance and competitor developments including market share and fund flow comparisons, and performance attribution
- Propose and design new product ideas based on ongoing market assessments and by analyzing available asset class and security level data
- Project manage fund development/launch efforts and other special projects
- Develop and implement marketing plans and programs including the creation of print and digital content, and working with advertising and public relations agencies
- Provide timely and accurate updates of collateral and regulatory documents
- Serve as subject matter expert for RFP and DDQ requests
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily - This job has no supervisory responsibilities
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience working in financial services, preferably for mutual fund/ETF provider
- Product development and/or product marketing experience
- Experience in both print and digital marketing
- Series 7, 63 required (or must attain within 4 months)
- Bachelor Degree in business, finance or economics
- CFA or MBA is preferred
- Prefer 4-8 years’ relevant experience within financial services
- Command of investment and portfolio concepts, (e.g. modern portfolio theory)
- In depth knowledge of investment product types and legal structures
- Thorough knowledge of the investment industry including marketing within the advisor and
institutional channels - Ability to analyze and synthesize complex investment topics into compelling and persuasive
presentations and written articles - Strong qualitative, quantitative and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong project management skills to supervise multiple work streams simultaneously.
