Your Responsibilities:

  • Independently creates compelling content that articulates value propositions and key marketing messages for all communication channels in support of strategic initiatives and business as usual needs across all distribution channels (Institutional, Financial Advisor
  • Services & Retail)
  • Collaborates with International Marketing Services, creative teams and channel marketing, internal stakeholders from Distribution, Investment Management Group, Legal & Compliance and external vendors
  • Develops content in the accepted Vanguard writing style. Ensures consistency of messages, compliance and branding across all communication pieces
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of investment markets, fundamentals of investing and superannuation, Vanguard managed funds and ETFs, Vanguard services and the competitive landscape
  • Demonstrates initiative and creativity in identifying and meeting client needs. Influences the internal team to develop and execute creative, ‘out of the box’ ideas where appropriate
  • Partners with creative team and clients to ensure that all internal and external client and production deadlines are met. Responds to edits and changes from reviewers with flexibility, while maintaining quality and accuracy
  • Manages internal and external parties as appropriate, in order to deliver high quality collateral and campaigns
  • Interviews and engages with senior colleagues across the business as required (e.g. for ‘ghost writing’ articles). Meets with and delivers presentations to project clients and management teams
  • Ensures effective work flow of all marketing communication and collateral pieces
  • Collaborates effectively with global and local subject matter experts to construct content that positions Vanguard as an educator and thought leader or as required by brand positioning
  • Keeps up to date on key corporate and departmental initiatives, policies, procedures, and publishing workflows; reads financial news publications and competitive analyses to maintain awareness of important financial services, social media, and publishing trends and events
  • Demonstrates understanding of Vanguard brand principles, acts as Brand champion and advocate
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial and investment writing/editorial and marketing communications
  • Experience writing for digital channels and printed collateral
  • Experience in asset management with strong product and superannuation industry knowledge
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • RG146 compliant
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to translate complex investment principles into a ‘plain talk’ approach across all channels
  • Sound research skills, outstanding writing and communications ability
  • Excellent proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to be flexible and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
