Job Purpose:

  • RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) is the asset management division of Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) serving individual and institutional investors in Canada, US, Europe and Asia.
  • Eastern Canada includes Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, PEI, New Brunswick, Quebec and Ottawa for IIROC and MFDA dealers.
  • The mission for the Vice-President,  Sales GAM, Eastern Canada, is to focus on outcomes, ensure alignment across teams and enable GAM to exceed advisor expectations while accelerating asset and sales growth.
  • This will enable the firm to double our business over the next 5 years measured by assets under management.

Your Responsibilities:

Accelerate Growth

  • Accelerate the growth of Advisor Channel assets and sales over the next 3 years and double the number of core client relationships within the region.

Sales Leadership

  • Effective leadership transition for 6 territories and alignment within and across teams.
  • Foster an internally collaborative/externally competitive team culture with a focus on outcomes, alignment and support of GAMs strategy and sales approach.
  • Partner with regional dealer leads in Atlantic and Quebec and effectively navigate across Atlantic, Quebec and Ontario regions to engage each market as a valued partner.
  • Hire, coach and retain top sales talent and guide territory business planning to support execution including being in market with clients.

Business Leadership:

  • Focus on outcomes for investors, advisors, team members and shareholders and actively contribute to leadership team strategy.
  • Accountable for overall GAM results as a member of the Leadership team in addition to specific results in the East.
  • Communicate our national roadmap and vision to regional teams and enable them to execute effectively.
  • Represent RBC GAM and participate in cross-functional projects and work effectively with all stakeholders.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bilingual – excellent communication skills in both French & English
  • Proven track record of sales and sales leadership including specific experience with IIROC and MFDA dealer partners
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and leading high performing teams
  • Technical Knowledge of capital markets and deep understanding of mutual funds, ETFs, Models and Segregated Funds
  • Strong Relationship-Builder and proven ability to engage partners and pursue a collective goal
  • Commitment to achieve results and high performance

  • Professional designation: CFA, CIM, CFP
  • Post-graduate degree
