Job purpose:

  • The US iShares Institutional Product Consulting team is responsible for delivering investment and product analyses for intermediary clients, serving as technical experts on the iShares product range
  • Through detailed and bespoke ETF and portfolio analytics, the team drives education and understanding around ETF utilization, index construction, product structure, competitive positioning, and delivers key product insights to clients, distribution teams and other partners
  • The team is a key resource to assist in converting new ETF business and/or deepening existing relationships collaboratively across the iShares institutional channels
  • In leveraging investment expertise, product knowledge, technology, and investment systems, the Institutional Product Consultant is an important partner with the sales teams across US and non-US regions
  • The Institutional Product Consultant also helps to influence the future growth of the iShares business and the overall ETF industry.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Respond to client requests by crafting robust, customized analyses and articulating relevant insights
  • Responsible for driving customized analyses which may include, but are not limited to, returns based style analysis, holdings-based analysis, and risk and return attribution
  • Contribute and influence strategic sales and client engagement initiatives, as a subject matter expert to drive deeper ETF usage and industry adoption
  • Participate in client meetings and conference calls in preparation for and during readouts of client-driven analyses together with institutional sales partners
  • Proactively disseminate investment, index and product knowledge throughout key internal channels such as the sales and marketing organizations
  • Partner with the sales and product organizations to explore new ETF exposures and ETF applications for investors
  • Additionally, bring client feedback to product research groups for new ETF solutions
  • Contribute to an increasing use of technology to expand and improve ETF distribution and analytics
  • Continually expand and deepen investment, industry and iShares product knowledge; stay abreast of the current market environment, ETF trends and landscape, and relevant investment research.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required. Masters, or progress towards, preferred
  • 7+ years of direct industry experience, including strong investment management knowledge and proven client facing capability
  • ETF product familiarity and direct industry experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills, including hands-on experience with one or more of: Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, FactSet or similar systems required
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written along with significant client facing (investment consulting or sales) experience
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize and collaborate vertically / horizontally and across functionally / geographically disperse teams in a fast-paced environment.
