Job purpose:

  • The Capital Markets Specialist will be primarily responsible for supporting our strategic business development work by enhancing our account management framework with Capital Markets Group Partners to strengthen current relationships and expand coverage within the Broker Dealer and Exchange communities
  • In addition, the Capital Markets Specialist will be responsible for researching and developing project-driven initiatives, creating thought leadership, and fielding business inquiries from clients and internal stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership over the ongoing maintenance of B2B account plans for Tier 1 broker dealers and Exchange partners – assist in the execution of priorities to support SPDR business, expand touch points with top bank partners
  • Drive expansion of coverage to Tier 2 Broker Dealer accounts – assessing needs of SPDR business, identifying partnership opportunities, establishing strategic account plans
  • Assist in projects and working groups related to market structure advocacy, regulatory engagement, and ETF ecosystem improvements
  • Assist in ensuring support from the Broker Dealer and Exchange communities for SPDR priorities as it relates to market making, distribution, and product innovation and enhancements
  • Develop ETF Capital Markets thought leadership via white papers, marketing materials, or sales literature
  • Deliver risk excellence and support the business as a whole, through internal and external relationship development
  • Collaborate with teams across SSGA and other State Street business divisions to maximize Broker Dealer and Exchange relationships
  • Facilitate an understanding of the Americas’ SPDR business and its strategy and priorities across key internal partners.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Business analyst or strategy/planning background, which includes setting strategy, defining priorities, and measuring success
  • Exposure to sales/trading securities industry, preferably from large financial institution; you have strong understating of the dynamics that drive capital markets
  • Very proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • You should have the aptitude to think and act globally, harmonizing global, regional and local objectives
  • A developed sense of judgment and the ability to balance business needs in an objective and practical way is critical.
