Job Purpose:

  • To lead, manage and develop the UK Financial Institutions Group responsible for the growth of our business with the leading institutions in the UK retail market including discretionary asset managers, wealth managers and retail banks
  • Leading a team of experienced sales professionals with a high aspiration culture and focus on continuous development
  • The role will have responsibility for the development and execution of our market strategy supporting the growth across all Invesco strategies and products including mutual funds, ETFs and segregated accounts.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the UK Retail Financial Institutions Group (FIG), providing leadership and supporting the team as they contribute both individually and collectively to partner with our clients and to grow Invesco business in the UK retail market
  • Ownership of the strategic plan for the FIG team, ensuring clear articulation of the strategy and evidenced execution
  • Contribute actively to development, execution and communication of the wider UK Retail distribution strategy
  • Responsible for the on-going review, coaching and development of the team. Establish and maintain appropriate oversight and review mechanisms to deliver our high levels of expected client service, promotional activity and investment communication
  • Ensuring the team is appropriately resourced, developed and supported so that the team can deliver on their collective and individual objectives
  • Bring personal insight, client and sales team views to the table as we develop and launch new products for the UK retail market
  • Ensure that the team makes effective use of technology to best support our clients, record relevant information and to target new business opportunities
  • Working with the UK retail management team to ensure that all the sales team are successfully communicating and co-ordinated to best allocate the available resources to current and prospective opportunities
  • Embed our conduct culture and ensure due consideration and escalation of any Compliance, Risk and Conduct issues including all issues pertaining to the adherence to our code of conduct, ethical standards and conduct principles
  • Support and further embed our culture of Treating Customers Fairly and ensure all activities are in line with TCF outcomes.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Significant experience of working within the investment management sector, with proven experience of selling within the UK Retail market with experience of mutual fund, ETF and segregated account sales
  • Experience of all matters pertaining to client relationship management and prospecting
  • Demonstrable experience of building and executing a growth strategy within the UK investment management market
  • Management experience, ideally of investment management sales team
  • Excellent understanding of investment products and strategies, the retail market place and clients
  • Good knowledge of investment theory and practice
  • Up to date knowledge of the current economic environment and regulatory requirements
  • Displays drive and is results focused
  • Adaptive and responsive to changes in client needs and the industry environment
  • Strong commercial focus and good judgement
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Strong people management skills with ability to motivate a team
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent, with relevant financial services industry professional qualifications (meeting MIFID II level 3 status, information giver as a minimum).
