Job Purpose:

  • You will be joining an expanding team focusing on Trading Operations
  • The role involves working closely with traders in a front office environment
  • The individual will be required to build an excellent knowledge of the vast range of products traded by SIG and also the workings of all international markets in which we operate

Your Responsibilities:

  • Manage and analyse trader positions
  • Monitor corporate events and analyse the impact on traders’ positions
  • Calculate and analyse daily trading desk P&L
  • Manage the exercise of Options contracts on all European exchanges
  • Liaise with Prime Brokers, Execution Brokers, and European exchanges
  • Monitor and analyse market making activities on the desk
  • Analyse desks’ trading costs with particular focus on financing and market making
  • Proactively look for trading cost and system efficiencies
  • Monitor and analyse trading and operational risks
  • Develop, analyse, and distribute risk reports
  • Work on projects directly related to the desks’ trading activity and risks

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3rd level degree in Business, Economics, or Finance related discipline
  • 1-2 years’ industry experience within a similar role – middle office, trade support
  • Knowledge of / interest in capital markets and financial products and instruments is a strong advantage (e.g. ETFs, Options, securities)
  • Attention to detail and good organisational skills are essential
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel. Some exposure to MS Access and VBA/SQL an advantage.
  • Strong communicator (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
  • Ambitious and self-motivated, not afraid to ask questions and use own initiative
  • Effective problem solving and analytical skills; including effective troubleshooting in a fast paced, time-critical environment.
