The Role – SVP, President of EuroCCP 

The right candidate – working predominately from Amsterdam and travelling regularly to meet clients and other stakeholders – will have broad experience within the European equities and equity derivatives market ecosystem, and excellent knowledge/experience of the role of CCPs within that ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities include:  

Strategic Leadership

  • Developing commercial and operational strategy for business growth and diversification, in line with the mandate given by the shareholder, and leveraging Cboe’s global presence, in collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Plan and lead the organisation’s activities to set ambitious targets, prioritise initiatives, allocate resources, and deliver results across financial and non-financial goals including business performance, service quality, new business development, operational efficiency, organisational culture, and regulatory compliance.
  • Developing opportunities for synergies within Cboe, leveraging group resources where possible, whilst respecting regulatory-driven independent governance requirements.

Governance 

  • Acting in the capacity as legal entity CEO of European Central Counterparty BV, to direct the business in accordance with its constitutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring an effective control framework to guarantee that business is conducted in a prudent and controlled manner, attentive to internal and external sources of risk, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Reporting to the shareholder/board on organisational plans and performance

Stakeholder Management 

  • Being the public face of EuroCCP, able to effectively represent the business and to build trusted relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, partners, the media, Cboe as the shareholder, regulators and policy makers, and staff.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with senior leaders at key customers that can be leveraged to drive business development opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key policy and regulatory decisions makers in Europe so as to contribute to the formation of policy that supports competition and growth.

People & Culture 

  • Act as a role model promoting and furthering the company and CGM’s values in all relationships, both externally and internally.
  • Recruit, supervise and develop senior team members.

Candidate Profile:

Knowledge, experience, and technical expertise

  • Proven track record as a business leader in the financial markets industry, with responsibility for setting and executing on strategy, and success in driving business growth and development.
  • Proven managerial experience to fulfil the task of President in a supervised financial institution, including responsibility for relationships with regulators.
  • Strong track record of building and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including client relationship management.
  • An excellent understanding of functioning of equity capital markets, clearing and post trading activities, and of the evolving policy and regulatory environment.
  • Relevant experience in derivatives trading/clearing, ideally with established relationships with derivatives clearing members and other ecosystem participants.
  • Experience leading significant projects and managing change in a business with complex operational processes, and with associated IT infrastructure and control framework.
  • Understanding of financial and operational risk management processes.
  • A relevant academic degree.
