Job Purpose:

  • The Sustainable Investment Product Manager, APAC will work closely with the Head of Sustainable Investment in the region to drive integration efforts for SI Products, support key client and prospect development in close coordination with regional sales and client facing teams
  • Engage with key stakeholders in Greater China and Taiwan on the development of FTSE Russell’s sustainable investment product offering; and contribute to new research and product initiatives relevant to the Chinese market.

Your Responsibilities:

  • The role reports to the Head of Sustainable Investment, APAC within the Information Services division at LSEG
  • The role will also play a key role in the integration planning and the development of SI strategy for APAC as part of the integration of Refinitiv and LSEG
  • The role will contribute to client engagement programmes and work with individual and groups of clients to support their take-up and ongoing use of our sustainable investment products
  • For both Integration and BAU, the role will collaborate with sales, marketing, and research functions have a fully coordinated approach to product strategy, development, client input, and engagement
  • Serve as ESG and sustainable investment subject matter expert working with commercial and client facing teams to support the growth and use of FTSE Russell Sustainable Investment data and indexes
  • Originate product content and thought leadership relevant to clients and the investment community in Asia Pacific
  • Execute bespoke technical research projects
  • Help address product issues and/or implement enhancements
  • Represent FTSE Russell with investors, listed companies and other stakeholders to support the delivery of a market leading approach to sustainable investing in APAC, with specific responsibility for Chinese (Putonghua) speaking markets
  • Communications and interactions with companies about the ESG research process and results
  • From these engagements provide feedback to colleagues where ESG methodology enhancements can be made
  • Support the Sustainable Investment product management strategy and roadmap in order to ensure the delivery of innovative and in-demand solutions for the Greater China market, including Taiwan
  • Work with the Head of Sustainable Investment, APAC, to develop a strategy for engaging clients and the market on the development of new product and methodologies
  • Partner with the Product Management and Research teams in testing and developing new product concepts
  • Provide market specific insights for Taiwan and Mainland China to shape the development and direction of new index and research products
  • Play a key role in developing new products, services and capabilities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in Putonghua and English: Ability to communicate effectively to audiences with differing levels of domain expertise (presentations, reports, external communications)
  • Quantitative and financial fluency: High level of skill and comfort working with data sets and quantitative information (basic financial modeling skills)
  • Client focus and service mind-set: Understanding of client segments and ability to align with Sales and Service teams (expectation management, commercial awareness)
  • Execution: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize effectively, handle multiple projects under tight deadlines, identify/ flag/resolve potential issues early on
  • Collaboration: Ability to influence and work through others to get things done in a matrixed, multi-site organization; willingness to help colleagues; openness to take on new responsibilities
  • Flexibility and team working skills: willingness to take on additionally responsibility and to support APAC sustainable investment team on other areas as required
  • Self-motivated: Takes initiative and demonstrates a high level of enthusiasm
  • Willingness to travel within the region
  • Strong understanding of the Sustainable Investing and ESG market in Greater China and globally
  • Experience in a client facing environment providing customer support, integration, and implementation services
  • Understanding of the investment management and portfolio construction across asset classes
  • Demonstrable and relevant industry experience in financial services
  • Undergraduate degree in environmental studies, finance, economics, or equivalent experience required
  • MS or MBA in environmental studies, economics, or other quantitative fields a plus
  • CFA, CAIA designations (or participation in the programs) viewed favorably
  • Possible background includes product management, analyst, consulting, business development roles at financial services firms.
