Overall Purpose of the Job:

  • The marketing team is a core strategic partner within the business line, reporting directly to the head of the business line.  Marketing is responsible for developing, delivering and measuring the marketing strategy plan for the business line as well as playing a central role to achieving its sales objectives.
  • A key aspect in the successful delivery of the plan is the development of high quality strategic content that inspires and informs our clients and prospects.
  • In order to increase the depth and breadth of our client content we have created the position of Strategic Content Marketing Specialist within the team.
  • The individual will be responsible for writing and editing content including guides, articles, infographics, emails, advertorials and case studies as well as exploring other medium such as animations, webinars and social media.
  • The content should deliver business line specific insights, investment ideas and value-add across a range of media for our clients worldwide.
  • Working closely with the investment, marketing & digital teams within both the business line, and the wider organization, the individual will maximize opportunities and identify opportunities to deliver a better user experience for our clients and prospects.
  • As part of a small, ambitious team, the role will be creative, varied and hands-on.
  • The position will be based London and reports to the co-head of Content Marketing for ETF, Indexing & Smart Beta

Main Accountabilities

  • Support the co-head of Content Marketing for ETF, Indexing & Smart Beta in implementing the business line content strategy.
  • Develop and maintain business line strategic positioning, translate this across talking points, press communications and spokesperson briefing materials.
  • Generate new content ideas aligned to the strategic priorities
  • Edit research content from investment teams to deliver accessible material for wider consumption, creating tailored messaging for different audiences.
  • Leverage a variety of sources for strategic content ideas including market events, third party media, internal experts and industry trends.
  • Support and develop the content for press enquiries, events and webinars
  • Develop strong relationships with sales teams and other departments  in order to identify content opportunities. Such as product engineering, capital markets, digital & portfolio managers
  • Work with internal and external creative teams to refine the look and feel of content.
  • Deliver content across a range of asset classes including both Equities and Fixed Income as well as Factor Investing, ESG and Thematics.
  • Supporting the launch of new products and strategies with relevant strategic content.
  • The role holder will adhere to FCA rules and principles and the Firm’s policies and procedures.  Where appropriate, the role holder will seek guidance from the Head of Compliance

Candidate criteria:

  • Minimal education level – Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Required skills:

  • Extensive experience and held a senior position in a marketing/communications/journalism/PR role within the investment industry. Knowledge of the ETF/Index Business is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage simultaneously longer-term strategic assignments and immediate needs to produce high-quality results in a timely manner
  • Excellent writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to write for different audiences and media
  • Proactive, flexible, fast learner with a high degree of initiative
  • Extremely resourceful and works well within a team environment
  • Critical and creative thinker.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and coordinate across various teams in various time zones
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industry rules, guidelines, and standards
  • Fluent Written and Spoken English. Fluency in another European language is useful, but not essential
