Job Purpose:

  • The Sales & Product Trainer will collaborate with sales management to design, develop, implement, and execute strategic initiatives around product, process, and talent development, and to maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the firm.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute new hire training and orientation
  • Oversee continuous training including curriculum design, project management, and coordination
  • Develop both short-term and long-term strategy for the Sales Learning & Development team
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., Product Management, Compliance, Human Resources, Portfolio Management) to ensure alignment with industry and firm requirements
  • Prepare and/or deliver sales specific classes (e.g., presentation skills, business etiquette, overcoming objections, closing)
  • Generate relevant fund/product sales ideas in a timely manner and define methods of delivery (e.g., Allego, Speaker Series)
  • Conduct sales training workshops (e.g., 3D, product trainings, LEAP curriculum)
  • Review inbound and outbound sales calls for accuracy, professionalism, and consistency
  • Coach individuals to improve sales techniques and sales knowledge
  • Serve as a liaison to key stakeholders to communicate relevant feedback and problem-solve solutions
  • Oversee calendar events and drive accountability for training requirements with sales teams (e.g., syllabus creation, checklists, etc.)
  • Serve as a consultant to help solve sales-related business problems, identifying gaps, understanding root cause, and implementing high impact solutions
  • Work closely with internal Sales leaders and external vendors to develop and deliver learning content and shape into a focused curriculum tailored to various audiences (e.g., Morningstar, Richardson, Allego)
  • Perform logistical tasks, including creating systems access and ordering technology devices for new hires.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years training or relevant experience preferred
  • In-depth understanding of mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, and retirement plan products
  • General understanding of Capital Markets and the impact of economic factors
  • Proficiency in delivering training and facilitating small and large group discussions
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage complexity across multiple projects, and deliver in tight timeframes
  • Ability to source, select, and negotiate with vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, build strong relationships, and drive execution of business initiatives
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled at creating presentations/programs and training materials
  • A passion for coaching and developing talent

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 licensing exams (or must obtain within firm-defined time period).
