Moody’s ESG Solutions Group (MESGS) is a business unit of Moody’s Corporation serving the growing global demand for ESG and climate insights. The group leverages Moody’s data and expertise across ESG, climate risk, and sustainable finance, and aligns with Moody’s Investors Service (MIS) and Moody’s Analytics (MA) to deliver a comprehensive, integrated suite of ESG and climate risk solutions including ESG scores, analytics, Sustainability Ratings and Sustainable Finance Reviewer/certifier services. It houses V.E and 427, both affiliates of Moody’s.
Role/Responsibilities
Moody’s ESG Solutions Group is looking for a Product Strategist to help drive delivery for our ESG product suite. You will work closely with the customer and serve as their voice regarding market needs and the growing demand for transparency, engagement, and measurable impact to help our diverse client base manage ESG and Climate related risks and opportunities. There is a particular focus around Insurance and P&C Underwriting
- Articulation of Moody’s existing suite of ESG solutions as well as our short and long-term product objectives in alignment with Moody’s overall business strategy. Support clients with product inquiries and adoption and lead exercises that elucidate forward looking market views.
- Maintain an up-to-date and accessible product roadmap for products under your purview that looks at optimal alignment across Moody’s and advocate for the resources needed to execute those initiatives
- Drive the roadmap from idea to productization and launch including design, validation, development, packaging and market positioning
- Coordinate with other product groups to manage interdependencies, accelerate development by leveraging existing capabilities, collaborate on trade-off analyses and reduce duplication of effort
- Explore new product opportunities by defining behavioural archetypes for end users of both new and existing applications, validating hypotheses and assessing solution-concept-market fit
- Ensure we have up-to-date competitive analysis documentation and understand how policy/standards movements will impact our suite of solutions. Pivot strategy as needed
- Source and analyse market feedback and translate this feedback into product enhancements and new product opportunities ensuring a customer-first approach
- Work with the commercial team to regularly track performance against revenue targets and optimize product suite and packaging to ensure market fit.
- Partner with marketing and sales to ensure solutions are positioned in the market according to the workflows they are intended to support.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required and graduate/second level degree (Masters or MBA) preferred
- 10+ Years in Product Strategy-related roles, including strong understanding of product development, modelling and practical experience in design thinking and agile principles.
- Experience working with an established provider of financial services data and analytics with strong client/customer-facing skills.
- Prior understanding of the P&C Underwriting or Insurance industry is preferred but not a prerequisite
- Strong understanding of ESG, climate and sustainable finance markets and the integration of these dimensions into risk management and investment decisions.
- Strong planning and organization skills, able to translate business strategy into actionable tasks
- Ability to influence without authority to drive alignment and momentum
- Proven track record of delivering on key initiatives and solving complex problems
