Job Purpose:
- As a key component of the Product Strategy and Investment Services department, the Americas Product & Market Research (APMR) unit is responsible for providing product, market, and competitive insight to internal business areas across the firm. APMR provides in-depth product research and analysis to enhance business development opportunities in North America
- The group also provides market intelligence to support product development/ rationalization efforts and strategic product line initiatives
- Furthermore, APMR supports product positioning efforts through careful analysis of the competitive marketplace
- APMR works with a wide array of internal clients including the Invesco Board, Legal/Compliance, Sales, Marketing, and various investment teams
Your Responsibilities:
- Support US retail distribution channels in product-related research and analysis
- Provide competitive intelligence to various internal business partners
- Proficient use of third-party databases and research tools
- Maintain production of selected recurring reports
- Participate on special projects as needed
- Helping identify and anticipate client product, platform, and model needs by conducting insightful competitive intelligence
- Highlighting each WMP’s strengths, weaknesses, and gaps, and overlay these against Invesco’s market credible capabilities
- Developing an understanding of each WMP’s product offering set and their decision-making process
- Collaborating with colleagues to identify new ways to leverage platform product data that can lead to incremental insights
- Provide thorough information related to investment performance, process, positioning, and characteristics.
- Work with APMR, Product Management, and other internal teams to develop informative and educational pieces on high priority opportunities for use by sales in the field
- Set up and participate on recurring calls/meetings to discuss relevant findings from platform reviews or any Morningstar alerts for products being closely monitored
- Solicit feedback on recent meetings and any product discussions to increase understanding of client needs and preferences
- Participate/own project materials in construction of fund monitoring across firm data collection
- Build out reports/alerts against several data points for proactive trend monitoring
- Support Product Managers, Due Diligence Directors, and Client Portfolio Managers in identifying and tracking key competitors and uncovering potential takeover opportunities
- Assist Invesco’s US product development efforts by providing research on peer group construction, historical performance, and pricing-related information
- Support Invesco’s strategic planning efforts by producing analysis on overall competitive position and strengths/weaknesses of specific products
- Work with the Insights & Analytics and Invesco Solutions teams on product-related projects as required
- Understand the full functionality of available research tools covering mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), managed accounts, and other retail vehicles
- Utilize expertise on third-party databases for ongoing and ad hoc competitor and market research, pairing the right tool(s) with each request
Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in the financial services industry is necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities of this position

- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field is required.
