Job Purpose:

  • The Senior Manager, Mutual Fund and ETF Strategy will have the opportunity to work on high-value strategic projects, while at the same time building in-depth knowledge of the MF and ETF asset management businesses, through immediate involvement in the implementation of key initiatives
  • The Senior Manager will engage in all aspects of the project life cycle, from idea generation, analysis of options, development of recommendations, to actual project execution
  • Candidates for the role should be self-starters with a well-rounded set of skills including strong analytical problem solving and strategic thinking capabilities.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Generate actionable recommendations and building business cases for initiatives to create senior management support
  • Collaborate closely with multiple partner organizations across Schwab to ensure strategic alignment of overall business plans and priorities, as well as individual initiatives
  • Perform regular and ad hoc quantitative and qualitative analyses
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of strategic issues and product / distribution trends in the asset management industry
  • Perform ongoing competitive analysis and evaluating industry trends to identify business implications.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Passion for serving clients and for the asset management industry
  • 5+ years of experience, ideally in strategy, management consulting, or financial services product development / product management
  • Ability to clearly define a problem, synthesize data to drive to fact-based insights and strategic implications, and develop clear and thoughtful recommendations
  • Knowledge of the asset management industry and major trends around products, managers and distributors
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Superior presentation skills, both written and verbal, for all levels of the company
  • Expert user of PowerPoint and Excel
  • Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment
  • Natural ability to build relationships with key business partners across the company
  • Bachelors degree required, MBA desired.
