Job Purpose: 

  • Primary legal responsibility for the ETF range domiciled in Ireland, including drafting, reviewing and updating prospectuses, KIID documentation and funds agreements.

Your Responsibilities: 

  • Advising the EMEA ETF team on structuring and other capital market issues relating to the creation, operation and distribution of ETF products
  • Working closely with the wider EMEA and Global Legal team on a variety of issues relating to the development, operation and distribution of the EMEA ETF range of products
  • Participating in cross-departmental projects and key regulatory initiatives
  • Liaising with other departments and external counsel
  • Working closely with other members of the EMEA Legal team, e.g. to ensure consistency of approach between product ranges and adequate coordination for implementation as well as with other members of the Invesco Legal group worldwide
  • To identify and advise on the effective management of legal risk to the Invesco EMEA business and to implement, coordinate and manage commensurate internal controls to achieve these outcomes
  • Be aware of, and able to advise on regulatory developments affecting the EMEA ETF business and funds managed by Invesco.

Skills and Qualifications:  

  • A minimum of five years post qualified experience in a law firm or in an in-house role
  • A broad based legal background with experience in capital markets (including listing and brokerage) and ideally funds/asset management experience
  • Good knowledge of ETF regulations and UCITS regulations
  • Fluent in English, any other European language is a plus
  • Liaising in a proactive, problem solving manner with other functional areas on legal matters
  • Ability to quickly grasp and solve complex problems
  • Ability to deal with and manage change in a fluid environment
  • Ability to examine issues from multiple perspectives
  • Optimistic, positive attitude; a “can-do” approach
  • Display a high degree of interpersonal and political savvy, tact and diplomacy with all constituencies
