What is the Americas Product Marketing Team responsible for?

The Americas Product Marketing team supports the Canadian, Central and South American businesses across client types (Advisory, Institutional and Private Wealth).  We have  responsibility for creating compelling product stories and content that bring our product offerings to life in a way that engages clients to take action to invest – or to remain invested in our products. We act as product champions and subject matter experts throughout the organization, and take ownership and pride in the growth of our ETF product suite and the awareness of our capabilities in ETFs.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Product Marketing Manager?

Our Product Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting our ETF line-up in the Americas region partnering closely with both distribution, investment and other members of the marketing team.  They will drive priorities, initiatives, campaigns, and marketing suite objectives for the ETF business in the region.

  • Leads product marketing responsibility for our suite of ETFs. Responsible for developing the suite of support across the client journey (prospecting to servicing) and client types (investor, advisor, institutional) for each market we operate in.
  • Partners closely with other members from marketing for the active suite of our ETF line-up to ensure consistency in approach and message.
  • Develops and refreshes the product story, ensuring it is timely and relevant for the various client types.
  • Brings that story to life across communication types; presentations, web, brochures, thought leadership, etc.
  • Develops actionable sales ideas to help position the product.
  • Builds actionable presentations that support the ETF specialist and other sales professionals in the field.
  • Liaises with different internal groups of all levels, including sales/marketing, client service, management, legal, performance, web, e-mail, and graphics to execute on the marketing objectives.
  • Functions as cross-departmental team member to support marketing campaigns on ETFs including email, thought leadership, advertising, social, etc.
  • Seeks actively to drive business results by identifying opportunities to enhance/strengthen our marketing materials and messaging.
  • Leads the requirements and development of all marketing aspects associated with new product launches – working closely with cross functional resources like product management, product development, web operations, creative services etc.
  • Leads resource for sales and client presentations for events, client meetings, RFPs etc., working closely with other resources as needed; market research, design, product content specialists and sales.
  • Stays on top of competitive positioning of assigned product and asset class.
  • Provides ongoing product training and leadership to content specialist team and other marketers.

What qualifications would help someone be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in the investment industry in product marketing/management-related role
  • Expertise in ETFs essential
  • Solid understanding of mutual funds and ETFs and financial metrics
  • Proficiency in English – verbal and written; French and Spanish an asset
  • Strong PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to understand and incorporate detailed project requirements and instructions into finished product, and to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to remain highly organized – can organize work and due dates to structure time effectively
  • Ability to transition to/from different initiatives and projects as opportunities and risks emerge
