Job purpose:

  • The Sustainability Strategy team will work in close collaboration with our newly created Sustainability and Stewardship Council leaders to determine and implement the Council’s agenda
  • The Council has been established to connect environmental, social and governance (ESG) leaders from across FT’s 19 specialist investment managers (SIMs) and work with the central Sustainability Strategy team to guide the continued evolution of ESG infrastructure and best practices
  • Led by the Global ESG Strategy Director, the team will liaise across business functions – acting as an ambassador on all Sustainability issues, promoting these and working closely with the investment teams to collectively build Franklin Templeton to be a sustainability investing leader.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work consultatively across all business functions with a focus on acting as the group’s Lead on Product Development and Strategy
  • Advise on product development of ESG funds and related products and structure from the sustainability perspective
  • Monitor ESG fund flows, market data to anticipate developing trends and produce compelling competitor research analysis
  • Identify, compare and contrast sustainability / ESG investment strategies, identify product gaps, and advise on ESG product innovation
  • Develop an understanding of cross-asset trends in sustainability including climate, and identify opportunities and risks
  • In collaboration with the team Investment Specialist to conduct analysis on investment strategies to compare and contrast competitor funds and products
  • In collaboration with the team Investment Specialist provide strategic advice on sector trends, product strategy, advise on sustainable product projects and services
  • Assist in structuring new business marketing content
  • Advise on methods of consistency and compatibility in presenting fund and portfolio competitor data.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree ideally, with Post Graduate studies/focus on in Finance and/or Investment
  • Passion for Sustainable investing principles, ideally having carried out some additional qualifications or learning in this space
  • Experience of working in at a global Asset Manager
  • Ideally experience in a product or solutions role within investment sector
  • Experienced in the use of Morningstar, Mercer, eVestment, Broadridge intelligence
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate and influence across a broad range stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a highly matrixed, global environment and remain empathetic, passionate and resilient
  • Ability to work effectively both as a team player and independently
  • Experienced at working in working multiple projects and navigating the challenges this presents
  • Proven ability to work across different teams and functions.
