Position Overview

The role of Senior Associate, ESG Issuer Relations, EMEA will focus on supporting the ESG Issuer Relations team activities with a focus on the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). This role will own ongoing communication with strategic, high-profile companies and proactively contribute to developing our relationships with companies in the region. This is a highly collaborative role in a growing and evolving function at MSCI ESG Research, with opportunity to work cross-functionally across research, product, and coverage teams, as well as gain experience working in a global team and organization. The position is based in London with opportunity for remote flex work and reports to the Head of ESG Issuer Relations, EMEA.

MSCI ESG Research is an established player in the field of ESG Research and Ratings, pushing the envelope on standard-setting, transparency, and research for institutional investors around the world. The MSCI ESG Issuer Relations team within MSCI ESG Research is a fast growing and evolving function, responsible for the oversight of all interactions with public companies in the MSCI ESG Research coverage universe. This includes, but is not limited to, educating the issuer community on ESG and Climate investing and MSCI ESG Research data and analysis, as well as soliciting insights and feedback from companies. We represent MSCI at external issuer events globally, and sitting within the broader ESG research team, we contribute to the development of services and solutions that seek to better connect companies and investors on relevant ESG topics.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Manage direct interactions with issuers based in the EMEA region, across various industries
  • Work across research and data teams to respond to substantive questions and feedback from companies on their MSCI ESG Research reports and analysis
  • Engage with sector leads and analysts to bridge the issuer-analyst gap, facilitating the conversation between analysts and the companies in their coverage
  • Propose thoughtful and innovative improvements to the issuer experience, including influencing the evolution of the ESG Research processes and methodologies
  • Coordinate and oversee regular maintenance and updates of Guides, FAQs, and video tutorials for issuers
  • Actively contribute to content and research on various topics related to issuers, as well as distilling relevant issuer trends and insights for an investor audience
  • Support engagement and management of regional stakeholder relationships including with stock exchanges, industry organizations, and conference bodies

 Desired experience and qualifications

  • 5-7 years relevant work experience including at a corporate advisory, corporate consulting and/or other public issuer focused experience such as ESG reporting, investor relations, or corporate sustainability
  • Demonstrated understanding and passion for corporate responsibility and sustainability
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, refine and communicate complex topics to key stakeholders; as well as strong project management skills to coordinate and influence different teams globally
  • Strong communication, relationship building, and diplomacy skills
  • Proven excellent research, writing and analytical skills
  • Enthusiasm and experience for working in a collaborative, global environment
  • Knowledge of ESG disclosure frameworks, and the ESG policy and regulatory landscape a plus
