Job Purpose:

The individual is responsible for:

  • Developing the quality and content of client materials/portfolio reviews/pitches, leveraging the available metrics but delivering them in a way which enhances the client experience
  • Collaborating with ICs / RMs in attracting and retaining assets under management, identifying investment opportunities and ensuring client risk exposure is aligned with their profile
  • Portfolio construction and risk analysis
  • There is a significant amount coordination required amongst both global and local stakeholders to ensure consistency and adoption of best practices
  • The role requires the development of quality output to enhance the client experience and ensure that ICs are equipped to deliver high quality investment advice and client conversations
  • In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to proactively identify investment opportunities and portfolio enhancements underpinned by the Global Investment Committee themes/asset allocation, in order to drive the increase of invested assets
  • This role is expected to grow in scale as demand for the Advisory program increases over time and portfolio construction needs evolve.

Your Responsibilities:

ALES & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Be a primary source of expertise on the systems capability (Internal Advisory Platform) and wider Advisory Service Proposition
  • Ability to generate relevant investment opportunities based on existing client portfolio risk metrics and position such investment opportunities with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to position investment opportunities with internal and external stakeholders and influence buy-in from internal stakeholders (RMs / ICs) and from end clients
  • Actively participate in client meetings to enrich and deepen the quality of the investment conversation
  • Actively promote Advisory Platform capabilities internally and demonstrate the value added for front staff and for end clients
  • Proactively identify trading opportunities for individual clients but also wider opportunities for multiple portfolios
  • Collaborate with ICs in constructing customized portfolios
  • Assess Global Investment Committee output with regard to thematics / asset allocation and collaborate with Product Specialists to understand the impact of adding implementation products to client portfolios
  • Develop the quality and content of client materials/portfolio reviews/pitches, leveraging the available metrics but delivering them in a way which enhances the client experience
  • Actively work with RMs and ICs:
  • to identify and pitch to prospective clients, pitch for share of wallet
  • to identify clients at risk and help the front line to articulate portfolio shifts to avoid client defections where such defections are triggered by performance-risk portfolio

PLATFORM EVOLUTION

  • Act as the main point of contact for collecting, prioritizing and driving platform evolution to increase sales pitches impact with internal stakeholders (RMs / ICs) and with end clients
  • Liaise with trading platform providers to resolve issues or secure enhancements
  • Drive enhancements with objective of reducing underlying costs, reducing risks and providing fair outcomes to clients
  • Communicate changes to Front Office, ICs and ICAs on a timely basis

INTERNAL COLLABORATION

  • Participate in GPB investment committees and relevant governance committees
  • Liaise with Global Functions and peers to ensure internal alignment.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master degree and/or CFA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of investment experience, with minimum 5 years in a client sales facing role and a proficient experience in portfolio construction and implementation role
  • Prior experience with implementations through various investment vehicles, i.e. Mutual Funds, Equities, Fixed Income, ETFs, Alternatives, Structured investments and separate accounts across asset classes and thematics
  • Strong knowledge of modern portfolio theory and risk analytics
  • Strong knowledge of asset allocation models and portfolio construction methodologies
  • Fluent in English and in French
  • Outstanding oral and presentation skills in dealing with internal and external clients
  • Resourceful and self-sufficient, with the ability to quickly adapt to new tasks.
