Job Purpose:

  • This Regional Director will be responsible for marketing the Legg Mason affiliate strategies (Western Asset Management, Clearbridge Investments, Brandywine Global Investment Management, Royce & Associates, Clarion Partners, Martin Currie, RARE, and QS Investors) to RIAs and Bank Trusts on the west coast.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for increasing Legg Mason Mutual Fund, Managed Account and ETFs gross and net sales as well as improving asset retention within the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and Bank Trust space in a variety of capacities including supporting and consulting with Financial Advisors
  • Responsible for visiting firms within regions regularly in order to build relationships, increase brand awareness and gross and net sales
  • Must develop and give sales presentations, produce and communicate sales ideas, coordinate and participate in regional meetings and conferences
  • Develop a business strategy within the territory (West Coast). The strategy includes developing a firm rotation, implementing business plans around focus firms and identifying business opportunities
  • Extensive travel required approximately 3 days per week.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of financial services sales experience within territory
  • Established relationships at focus firms within territory
  • Series 7, 63, 65 licenses
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in using CRM systems (Salesforce.com)
  • Superb presentation skills
  • Flexible and able to travel 75% of the time
  • Able to travel

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
