Product Marketing Manager

Job Purpose:

  • SPDR has remained on the forefront of responsible innovation, as evidenced by the introduction of many ground-breaking ETFs, including first-to-market launches with gold, equity sectors, convertible bonds and many more.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Own a family of products to support Manulife’s Retail distribution efforts of ETFs, Mutual funds, and Segregated Funds
  • Plan, develop & execute product specific marketing strategies campaigns from A to Z
  • Strategies may include campaigns, advertising, collateral development and updates, product launches, email campaigns, events, videos
  • Collaborate with the Product team to find synergies and make processes more efficient
  • Works closely with and ensures coordination with multi-departmental stakeholders and contacts to determine scope, requirements, and solutions for product marketing initiatives and ensures integration with other projects as necessary
  • Support internal communications, marketing, training, motivational and incentive development efforts. Support technical content using PowerPoint and Excel
  • Balancing multiple projects and changing priorities and meeting strict deadlines
  • Product Marketing Planning & Execution
  • Develops impactful, relevant, and timely product marketing materials to support mutual fund, ETF, segregated fund, and other retail investment solution sales (marketing collateral, product concepts, new product launches, due diligence events, roadshows)
  • Develops and deploys marketing programs to support Manulife’s focus funds based on identified strategic business priorities
  • Translate industry research and audience insights into actionable marketing strategies
  • Develop thorough agency briefs and be part of the creative and media agency briefing process
  • Refine creative concepts in partnership with agencies and ensure strong business alignment
  • Refine media strategy and ensure media plans align back to business and target audience
  • Develop communications and materials to support the sales enablement process
  • Translate creative concepts across all media tactics and ensure marketing messages are customized for each channel
  • Socialize marketing plans with internal partners (research, digital, Advisor Experience, product, sales, leadership, legal and compliance) and external partners (agencies, translation, research companies, media partners)
  • Facilitate legal and compliance approvals and French adaptation through translation partners.
  • Execute on all production deliverables with hyper focus on accuracy, timeliness and process efficiency
  • Operational Efficiency
  • Support marketing modernization and transformation efforts by leading and implementing processes that
  • unlock efficiencies across the entire WAM Canada marketing organization
  • Lead collateral rationalization efforts to streamline and minimize marketing collateral
  • Seek and implement innovative and automated processes to enable marketing to focus on high value functions
  • Support transition of print to digital efforts by digitizing print heavy publications
  • Develop digital templates for sales communications to streamline and protect the Manulife brand
  • Events
  • Be part of an “events-in-a-box” approach to facilitate and operationalize MIM presence at key sponsorship events across the country
  • Develop and execute key strategies for Events/Forums across the country (i.e. Toronto, Vancouver,
  • Montreal).

Skills and Qualification:

  • 5 to 7 combined years in Financial services with knowledge of investments industry – its products, services and competitors
  • University / College graduate
  • CFA or progress towards CFA a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills that model corporate core values
