Global X, a New York-based sponsor of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), is seeking an ETF Product Development Associate to join our Product Development team.

The ETF Product Development Associate is expected to be an impactful contributor to the Product Development team, working directly with the Head of Product Development to support the team’s efforts in the development of new ETF investment products. The ETF Product Development Associate will conduct quantitative and qualitative research to assess new ETF opportunities, assist in forming the firm’s long-term product strategy, and develop a strong understanding of the ETF ecosystem to support multiple areas of the firm. The ETF Product Development Associate will have broad exposure to the firm’s existing 70+ ETFs across our Income, Thematic Growth, International Access, and ESG suites, and will be involved in further building out the product lineup.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Product Development in executing product development initiatives
  • Evaluate new ETF product opportunities through the lenses of feasibility, market opportunity and strategic fit
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research at the macro, industry and company levels in the evaluation of new ETF product opportunities
  • Develop deep understanding of ETF regulatory guidelines and product structure to provide insight on the evaluation of new product opportunities
  • Support other internal teams by becoming a resource with deep knowledge of Global X ETFs and competing products, with specific expertise in index methodology design/construction
  • Identify new initiatives/projects and see these through to final execution

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 2-3 years of work experience in financial services (ETF industry experience preferred but not required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, statistics, or economics preferred
  • Proven success in demonstrating quantitative, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Practical knowledge of ETFs, passive investing, and index development
  • Experience developing Excel models (backtesting, forecasting, etc.)
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (internal and external)
  • Strong project management skills with a focus on execution and meeting deadlines

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • First-hand experience investing and conducting financial research
  • Experience using specialized financial software, such as Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, or Factset
  • Advanced Excel skills, including experience with VBA and/or other programming languages
