Job Purpose: 

  • This has role has two main responsibilities, firstly Product marketing which encompasses updating all product collateral (powerpoint, brochures, flyers, conference/event material, fact sheets and sales aids)
  • Critical to your success will be to ensure accuracy and consistency of messaging and data throughout the suite of materials
  • Secondly this role is responsible of supporting the successful delivery of events those that we build and those that we sponsor.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Product Marketing:
    • This role covers all Legg Mason product types: Fixed Income, Equity, Alternatives, and ETFs; as well as the following clients types: Retail, Wholesale and Institutional
    • The material will cover all funds offered in Australia across a range of the Legg Mason affiliates
  • Presentations:
    • Standard pitch books: Ensure timely and accurate updates of the standard pitch books, always thinking of potential improvement with our client front of mind
    • Bespoke Presentations: Work with the Sales and Affiliates teams on creating bespoke presentations for events, conferences, webcasts and roadshows, tailoring the message appropriately for the given audience and creating new slides where relevant
    • Marketing Literature: Work with the Product/Sales/Affiliates teams to create new materials such as sales aids and product pages for launching and existing funds, making sure that the product is positioned appropriately and consistently throughout
    • Webcasts: Work with affiliates on developing themes and messaging for client webcasts and manage both the webcast process on the day and the creation and distribution of follow up materials
    • New Fund Launches: Work with Product team Sales and the rest of Marketing to position any new funds appropriately and create communications that correctly reflect the objectives, benefits and differentiating factors of the new fund in a way that tells a story about the product to which clients can relate
    • Product Knowledge: Attend all product related training sessions, especially those most relevant to the funds you manage
    • Constantly strive to learn about the business, industry and product ranges to truly differentiate this team
    • Compliance: Understand and keep up to date with Compliance issues, the regulatory environment surrounding financial promotions and the procedures for signing off financial promotions
  • Event Management:
    • Support the planning of the annual event/roadshow/conference calendar
    • Support delivery of events/roadshows and sponsored conferences
    • Deliver events that represent our brand and expertise
    • Create repeatable processes and checklists for efficient delivery of all events
    • Ensure all event deadlines are met
    • Co-ordinate all deliverables for events for example – speakers, presentations invitations, materials including banners, flyers, competitions, feedback surveys, CPD points, stands, venues/AV and merchandise
    • Report/Evaluate event and share with stakeholders (metrics).

Skills and Qualifications:  

  • Educated to degree level
  • Solid understanding of the asset management industry
  • Preferable experience in creating investment-related marketing materials for an asset management firm
  • Desire to drive the content of the literature you own, defining the story and making suggestions on improvements
  • Highly computer literate and ideally have the following skills/experience:
    • Advanced PowerPoint
    • Indesign
    • HTML coding (nice to have)
    • Survey Money
    • Salesforce CRM
    • Silverpop
    • Adobe Experience Manager
    • Social – Twitter/LinkedIn
  • Strong communicator and numeric
  • Ability to work to tight timescales and be a team player. Displaying strong project management disciplines
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Creative design and layout skills (Indesign) would by highly advantageous
  • Ability to have strict adherence to global brand guidelines.
