Job Purpose:
- The portfolio management activity will focus on the usage of synthetic and derivatives instruments (futures, options, swaps, forwards) and / or physical exposures (ETFs and more traditional mutual funds)
- The role will involve the implementation of strategic changes to clients’ portfolios in liaison with our dedicated strategy and research team and will include coordinating the trade execution with our trading desk.
Your Responsibilities:
- Managing exposure management portfolios in line with their risk targets and investment objectives, with a particular focus on derivatives and fixed income instruments
- Developing new investment ideas and their implementation
- Providing meaningful market insight and positive contribution to the investment process
- Working closely with the Fixed Income portfolio management team on portfolios with an LDI component
- Execution of OTC and listed derivative transactions including swap, future and option based instruments
- Develop new products and solutions
- Participate to business development and promoting our capabilities in the UK
- Collaborating with the Strategy and Research team to improve and develop models and tools used by the team to evaluate assets, construct portfolios and make recommendations for clients’ portfolios and funds
- Testing system developments to improve the control environment.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience of running investment portfolios
- Holding or have held CF30 registration
- Knowledge of capital markets including domestic and international fixed income cash and derivatives
- CFA Charterholder preferred
- Knowledge of Liability Driven investing preferred
- Good communication / presentation skills in order to work with clients/prospects and ability to articulate sophisticated investment concepts to a broad range of audiences
- Understanding of advanced financial theories with a pragmatic knowledge of quantitative and statistical tools
- Strong computer skills, knowledge of front office tools (could be Front Arena, Charles River, Bloomberg)
- Positive personality and a strong team orientation.
