Role:
We’ve had an incredible 12 months of growth at ETF Stream, and now we’re looking for a news editor to help grow our coverage of ETFs and the passive investment industry, responsible for developing the brand and creating engaging content for use on the news site. Content will include reactive, on-the-day news relating to the ETF Industry, as well as larger feature pieces and contributing to our in-house reports.
The candidate we are looking for will be someone with prior knowledge of the ETF industry and also a significant understanding of the wider asset management space.
They will also have experience in producing high quality news and feature articles for a respected publication along with some editing experience as well.
Successful applicants will be expected to hit the ground running by building on their own network of contacts, moderating panels at ETF Stream events and producing valuable coverage about the ETF ecosystem for investors and the industry. The ideal candidate would turn up each day with their own ideas to bring to the table, whether for stories, features, podcasts, newsletters or events.
Key Accountabilities and Scope:
• Writing articles on topics including ETFs, Smart Beta, Indexing, Passive Funds
• Contributing regular creative ideas and discovering interesting stories for daily and monthly content
• Providing valuable coverage of the ETF industry for the website
• Manage and edit content to cater to readers’ requirement for online and print and provide detailed information for same
• Writing content for daily publishing on social media
• Adapting content quickly based on performance
• Ability to write longer form content such as features and reports
• Learning over time what content performs best for our customers and adjust content ideas accordingly
• Producing copy for multiple channels (web, event, print, social media, blogs etc.)
• Quickly grasp an understanding of the ETF industry and the key individuals from across the ecosystem
• Working with a small but growing, diverse team, who come from a variety of backgrounds including journalism, communications, financial services, sales and marketing
• Moderating panels or interviews at ETF Stream events
• Representing ETF Stream at various events and engaging with key industry experts
• Video Q&A Interviews with key industry professionals
Skills and Qualifications:
• 3+ years’ experience within the asset management/investment funds industry
• Previous experience working as a senior reporter/news editor within the asset management/financial services industry
• Candidates can come from backgrounds in media, publishing, economics or finance
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a high energy environment
• A passion for research and story-telling.
