Job Purpose:

  • The AMCS team manages the following products Mutual Funds, Managed Accounts, ETFs, Annuities Insurance, and Alternative Investments
  • The Managing Director, MF ETF Strategy, will play a critical role on the team that is primarily focused on Mutual Funds, ETFs 529 platforms.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Reporting into the Vice President, MF, ETF 529 Platform Management, the Managing Director will be responsible for developing strategies and leading projects that will help build and maintain Schwabs industry-leading MF, ETF 529 offers
  • The Managing Director will work closely with internal and external partners developing strategies to address changing industry trends, to evolve our business and economic model, pursue market growth opportunities and improve internal business processes and operations
  • This role will also have the opportunity to be closely involved in the implementation of these strategic initiatives
  • The Managing Director will also be responsible for developing and maintaining critical data functions, including internal management reporting, external PR reporting and data capabilities
  • Ownership of the data reporting functionality will support robust analytics for the strategy projects as well as data-driven decision making for the leadership team.

  • The successful candidate must be energetic and enthusiastic about strategy, analytics and financial services
  • They will be self-motivated, results oriented and able to independently lead major strategic initiatives
  • What you have Significant work experience in consulting, investment banking, corporate development andor internal strategy function prior experience in financial services preferred Bachelors degree MBA andor equivalent post-MBA level experience High degree of comfort dealing with ambiguity comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment A strategic thinker with strong business judgment and analytical skills, who is able to problem solve as issues arise Excellent project management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and work efficiently (independently and with teams), to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong relationship building and partnerships skills a strong team player with experience leading others both directly and indirectly Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability developing materials and effectively presenting to executive audiences Expert user of PowerPoint and Excel, with ability to effectively guidetrain team to develop expert level skills Strong preference for prior experience in Financial Services including experience with financial products, financial services technology andor the retail brokerage industry
