Job Purpose: 

  • Reporting to the Director, Investment Communications, you will help create the firm’s thought leadership and contribute to broader marketing campaigns and initiatives
  • Ideally you will have work experience within the investment management industry and the ability to develop narrative and “story-telling” across different media including print, digital and video.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Research, organize and write engaging investment content to be delivered across a variety of mediums and channels including print, digital, social media and video
  • Edit and proof external communication materials for clarity, consistency, compositional errors, tone and editorial style as well as adherence to established standards and company branding
  • Create, publish and update content using various web content management platforms
  • Act as a writing and editing resource to the Marketing team
  • Work closely with stakeholders such as investment management, product and distribution teams to develop new ideas and alignment on content creation and messaging
  • Keep up to date with developments in financial markets and the regulatory environment for product and non-product information in Canada, the US and Global Markets.

Skills and Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in English, Business, Communications, Finance or Journalism
  • 5+ years of experience in the field with three plus years of writing experience in the financial services industry, ideally covering both equity and fixed income asset classes as well as ETFs
  • Proven and exceptional writing skills to help create a wide range of communication materials for various audiences
  • Ability to capture complex ideas and write clear, concise and engaging content across different media including print, digital and video
  • Ability to work at a fast pace with strong attention to detail, highly organized and strong project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize work with competing business initiatives and time constraints
  • Ability to maintain sound judgment and professionalism under pressure
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently when necessary
  • Strong Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as third-party data sites such as Bloomberg, Morningstar.
