Job Purpose:
- As a Legal Counsel you will be deeply embedded into the business and in close contact with Trading, Risk, Regulatory Compliance, Business Development and Tech teams
- You are in charge of delivering pragmatic and effective solutions that are in harmony with all business and legal requirements to fulfil the mission of the Legal Department in line with the global mission of Flow Traders.
Your Responsibilities:
- Negotiation/drafting/reviewing and advising on:
- Legal aspects regarding the onboarding of counterparties (terms of business and other documentation)
- Exchange membership and platform access documentation
- Issuer documentation such as authorized participant agreements and market making agreements
- Brokerage, clearing, ISDA, (reverse)give-up agreements and other types of financial and trading agreements
- Collaborating and building strong working relationships with Trading, Risk and Mid-office and Regulatory Compliance Departments and with management
- Co-developing standard operating procedures and policies for Legal.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience at an international law firm or relevant industry experience at a financial markets/legal finance team of a bank/trading firm/investment firm may also be considered
- Dutch law degree or equivalent
- Fluency in Dutch and English both written and spoken
- Affinity with financial markets, preferably knowledge of ETFs/ETPs and FX
- Affinity with fintech is a plus
- Experience in negotiation of finance documentation/financial markets and/or trading documentation
- Autonomous; pro-active; flexible; hands-on; independent self-starter; team-driven and able to work within deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
- Sufficiently assertive; open and fun to work with
- Seeing the bigger picture; translating between legal, commercial/technical and practical implications; possessing the skill to adapt to a variety of stakeholders.
