Overview:

Due to our rapid growth in the Canadian ETF market, we are looking for an investment writer to join our Marketing team at Horizons ETFs Management (Canada) Inc. This is an opportunity to join Canada’s most innovative ETF provider.

As lead content contributor, you’ll work in a fast-paced environment with marketing colleagues across multiple projects, as well as with the compliance and design teams to ensure timely delivery of content. While you will focus on writing strategic content, you will also be a critical fact checker and proofreader for the marketing department.

 Responsibilities:

  • Strong writing skills to make sure that all external communications are well written
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with marketing colleagues across multiple projects
  • Critical fact checker and proofreader for the marketing department
  • Create and maintain documents and information about the financial industry in an array of formats.
  • Research current financial market trends and outcomes to create engaging content.
  • Use search engine optimization best practices when you make your content.
  • Publish your content using different outlets such as white papers, social media, blog posts, marketing, etc.
  • Ensure a consistent tone of voice that is in line with the brand and its audience.
  • Be well-versed in various financial topics and accustomed to describing financial markets, products, and economic activity in an easy-to-read manner.
  • Use strong project management, written, and oral communication skills.

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in marketing/communications, preferably in the financial services industry, such as banking, insurance, or asset management
  • Exceptional understanding of English grammar, sentence structure, spelling, punctuation and standard usage. Knowledge of CP Style
  • Understanding of the investment management environment, multiple products and asset classes
  • Ability to interact with a wide variety of senior marketing and investment professionals in drafting, editing and delivering the assigned collateral
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated project management experience, including coordination of multiple resources and deadlines
  • Preference will be given to candidates with relevant financial designations such as the CIM, FSCI, CFP or CFA
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course is preferred but not required
