Job Purpose:

  • You’ll be working in the Systematic & Index Investments Team in London, part of UBS Asset Management, a business division of UBS, and will be reporting to the Head of Investment Specialists for Systematic & Index Investments
  • The rapidly-growing team has clients in over 30 countries around the globe and is responsible for managing a total AuM over 280bn USD as at end September 2019 across quantitative, systematic and rules-driven strategies including alternative beta and traditional indexing
  • Our product offering includes custom segregated mandates, ETFs, synthetic equity index funds, structured funds, commodity strategies (including precious metals) and multi-asset funds.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Interact with and support the Portfolio Management and Research team with the goal of ensuring PMs’ time is focused on portfolio management and minimizing resource required for maintaining and developing the business
  • Support our existing clients with portfolio-related and ad-hoc queries
  • Co-ordinate and assist with investment specific client reporting, preparation for new business pitches and client portfolio reviews, and building and maintaining databases used for client/prospect/consultant queries
  • Respond to ad-hoc inquiries about our investment capabilities and product offering and track gains/losses
  • Update and maintain all marketing materials and intranet pages, and work with PMs and research analysts to create new contents
  • Review and provide inputs to the investment sections for all Requests for Proposal (RFP), liaising with the PMs and research analysts, and working closely with the RFP team and the Client Coverage team to deliver high quality submissions for new business
  • Represent the Systematic & Index Investments team at relevant internal and external meetings
  • Work on ad-hoc projects related to developments in the indexing industry.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ investment banking, investment research or investment specialist experience
  • Very strong academic background with excellent analytical, numerical, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
  • Relevant analytical and presentation experience gained either on the sell-side or on the buy-side, and a working knowledge of index investing desired
  • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to interact with other areas of the business: Portfolio Managers, Research Analysts, RFP team, Client Coverage team, Consultant Relations team, etc.
  • German language skills; these would be a plus and not formally required for the role
  • Able to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, highly organised, with meticulous attention to detail and hands-on approach
  • Able to work accurately and efficiently with large datasets and databases
  • An advanced user of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiar with FactSet, Bloomberg and other financial data sources
  • Progressing towards CFA designation desirable or already CFA.
