Job Purpose:
- The OppenheimerFunds Summer Internship Program targets rising seniors and graduate students entering their final semester/year of academic study.
- You will work on impactful projects while developing a robust understanding of asset management and enterprise strategy and objectives.
- Interns are paid a highly competitive hourly rate. The program begins on June 5th, 2018 and ends on August 17, 2018.
- As a Division Associate Intern, you will work with internal and external partners in multiple regions across the country to help develop and prospect new relationships with financial advisors.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales plan strategies with the primary focus of prospecting new business
- Identify sales opportunities and advisor needs, cross-sell ideas and introduce new concepts
- Develop asset allocation strategies based on client objectives and risk tolerances
- Analyze regional/product sales trends within participating broker/dealer firms and among individual financial advisors
- Work with various departments/individuals within the organization to provide ‘Best in Class’ service to our financial advisors
- Handle daily administrative tasks to ensure maximum business efficiency, i.e. update and maintain contact management system
Skills and Qualifications:
- Rising senior or grad student entering final year of study
- Finance, Economics or business discipline major preferred
- Basic understanding of mutual funds and financial markets
- Understanding of investment advisor relationships
- Strong analytical skills
- Comfortable working with technology
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
