Global X, a New York-based sponsor of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), is seeking an Index Research Associate/AVP to join our Product team.

The Index Research Associate/AVP is expected to be an impactful contributor to the Product team across the firm’s ETF product range. The Index Research Associate/AVP will review existing ETF products and their respective indexes, evaluate new indexes for future ETF product development, monitor index provider processes, and develop a strong understanding of the ETF and index ecosystem to support multiple areas of the firm. The Index Research Associate/AVP will have broad exposure to the firm’s existing 90+ ETFs across our Income, Thematic Growth and International Access suites as well as involvement in developing new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new index opportunities and contribute to index design considerations for future ETF product development
  • Review the exposure, index methodologies and competitive positioning of existing Global X ETFs
  • Conduct due diligence on third party index providers as it relates to both new index opportunities as well as ongoing index maintenance
  • Leverage existing ETF and indexing knowledge to determine feasibility of new ETF product opportunities and assist in optimizing index tracking workflows for existing products
  • Interface with legal and compliance teams to ensure proper ETF and index governance (e.g. IOSCO, BMR considerations)
  • Liaise with index providers and internal partners to ensure infrastructural integrity and efficiency related to index events processing, data reviews and transformation, etc.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3-5 years of ETF and/or index industry work experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, statistics, economics, business or similar
  • Understanding of datasets related to index/portfolio maintenance and construction; basic knowledge of database languages (SQL, MYSQL, etc.) preferred
  • Experience processing financial data across equities, fixed income and derivatives using various financial databases (Bloomberg, ICE, Datascope, etc.)
  • Experience developing Excel models (market forecasting, P&L, etc.)
  • Proven success in demonstrating quantitative, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (internal and external)
