The Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) Business sits within the Beta Strategies organization. The ETF business is a dedicated team of experienced professionals who work to develop and launch ETFs that span multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income and multi-asset. The ETF business leverages the firm’s numerous competitive advantages, including industry leading research and investment insights.

Job Purpose:

  • The Head of U.S. Beta & ETF Product Management is responsible for leading new product design and development while managing a growing range of established products
  • Reporting to the Global Head of Beta Product Development and the Head of U.S. ETFs, this individual must develop and direct disciplined processes to take in, evaluate, and advance new product ideas from various sources (e.g., internal product desks, regional sales teams, external partners and clients)
  • Importantly, the Product Management head must develop and curate a comprehensive U.S. product roadmap that supports JP Morgan’s strategy and brand message and enables thoughtful resource prioritization
  • This individual will need to be adept at assessing the commercial viability and regulatory and operational feasibility of new product ideas and driving promising ideas through all phases of development
  • The position requires extensive interaction with senior management and stakeholders across functional areas of JP Morgan Asset Management, including regional product teams, portfolio management, Sales, Marketing, Legal & Compliance, Operations and Technology
  • This position is a multi-faceted role requiring strong communication, analytical, and team management skills together with deep knowledge of markets and investment products

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders to evaluate and develop strategic product ideas
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive U.S. product roadmap that supports JP Morgan’s strategy and brand message
  • Generate product ideas by referencing global macroeconomic or investment trends, demographic data, changes in regulatory environment or competitive industry developments, as well as feedback from clients and client-facing personnel
  • Assess the feasibility of new product ideas, including commercial viability
  • Build business cases and assemble internal support for promising ideas
  • Cultivate and support a positive team environment and coach/develop junior talent

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of financial services experience
  • 6+ years in product research and development with the ability to assess data and form conclusions
  • 2+ years of direct experience in ETF product development
  • Bachelor’s degree; Masters or equivalent advanced degree in Finance, Economics, or Business a plus
  • Deep knowledge of markets and financial products, especially ETFs and passive investment strategies
  • Experience with product development, business strategy and /or business management
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills including ability to function effectively within a fast-paced environment, ability to multitask, ability to prioritize and ability to formulate and plan activities to meet high-level objectives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to deliver presentations and coordinate across the firm
