Job Purpose:

  • The Head of ETF Business Development Southeast Asia is responsible for leading ETF sales activities as specialist sales to target institutional and intermediary segments in the Southeast Asia region

Your Responsibilities:

  • Sales planning: establish align and implement focused sales plans to maximize the distribution of SPDR ETFs
  • Establish sales plans covering priority clients client segments and particular coverage models taking into account ability to partner and leverage SSGA client facing team and SPDR resources
  • Constantly track sales progress against financial and strategic targets and the ability to deliver result
  • Proactively and constantly monitor and adjust plans based on learnings and market developments
  • Sales process: orchestrate the overall ETF selling process leveraging the expertise and resources within SPDR and SSGA including Capital Markets ETF Strategy & Research Product and Marketing
  • Establish a clear sales pipeline to deliver against the plan
  • Establish tracking & reporting processes with metrics to enhance team effectiveness and permit simple stakeholder reporting including accurate and timely CRM use
  • Ensure the team works closely with Capital Markets ETF Strategy & Research Marketing Portfolio Management and other SSGA/ SPDR experts
  • Fully leverage broker relationships and other counterparties to extend sales reach
  • Client coverage: assume full responsibility and accountability for key ETF client relationships as a senior leader for SSGA Singapore and the Global SPDR Business
  • Take ownership of key strategic client relationships as a senior SPDR point person and personally help to achieve sales targets
  • Represent the firm in client presentations industry forums and events
  • Team collaboration: Work closely with SSGA Client Facing team to drive ETF sales among target client segments.
  • Collaborate with SSGA client facing team to understand the long-term potential from key target clients and establish focus action plan to deliver expected growth
  • Joint efforts in sales activity planning and execution to provide ETF specialist insights and client supports
  • Business leadership: deliver risk excellence and support the business as a whole through internal and external relationship development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal partners
  • Facilitate an understanding of the Global SPDR business and its strategy and priorities across key internal stakeholders
  • Ensure 100% compliance environment; proactively identify and address areas of risk
  • Operate in highly focused approach while maximizing time and resources

Skills and Qualifications:

  • To be successful the Head of ETF Business Development Southeast Asia must be a self-starter who is able to balance independence within a team based approach
  • The candidate must be comfortable in a multi-stakeholder environment able to work closely with SSGA/SPDR management and collaborate with the SSGA Client Facing team seek to ensure rigorous compliance and control and appropriately leverage resources across the firm
  • 10-15 years relevant experience covering institutional and intermediary clients in an asset management or a sell-side sales environment. Of which at least 5 years in ETF sales with a deep book of relevant client relationships
  • Proven ability to deliver sales growth
  • Experience in sales of capital market instruments – ETFs or equity/ derivative/ Fixed Income sales
  • Strong knowledge of the ETF market landscape key competitors and market trends
  • Strong team player in a multi stakeholder environment
  • Proven experience as a leader in managing clients and developing relationships across multiple products asset classes and regions
  • Solid investment foundation and excellent analytical skills
  • Degree qualified or above with a financial or analytical discipline preferred
  • Strong investment product knowledge and presentation skills
