Job Purpose and Your Responsibilities:

  • Growing a book of business through developing and executing effective sales and distribution strategies and product agendas to drive ETFs sales in Asia ex-Japan
  • Ownership of asset and revenue targets and responsibility for managing sales pipelines from opportunity through to execution
  • Establishing a robust client portfolio and a diversified book of business across multiple segments e.g. asset managers, banks, insurance companies, institutional investors
  • Assisting in the development of business plans to support any strategic objectives
  • Collecting and monitoring regulatory intelligence on the Asia ex-Japan ETF market to target clients across all segments
  • Participate and present UBS ETFs at conferences across the region
  • Regularly performing client relationship reviews to optimize the regions book of business
  • Ensure all regulatory and legal requirements and standards are met in all geographies
  • Share best practices across the Global ETFs Sales force and demonstrating strong teamwork ethic.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Established track record of at least five years, in marketing ETFs or other mutual funds to a broad client base
  • Diversified client portfolio is a plus (e.g. asset managers, banks insurance companies, institutional investors, etc.)
  • Strong network in the fund selectors/fund buyer’s space, including fund of funds, discretionary portfolios, insurance products
  • In-depth understanding of the Asia ex-Japan asset management/financial industry, especially the local ETF industries
  • University or University of Applied Sciences degree in Finance/Business Administration (or similar) required, other certificates or diplomas would be an advantage
  • He / she will demonstrate an in-depth grasp of the needs, present and future, of the Asia ex-Japan asset management/financial industry, especially the ETF industry, whilst retaining an appetite for developing new relationships
  • The successful individual will have a comprehensive knowledge of multiple asset classes, including equity and fixed income, with the skill to articulate investment processes knowledgeably and credibly, and understand client’s holistic portfolio needs
  • The successful individual must also possess the gravitas to make an immediate impact, both internally and externally, as well as having the motivation, appetite and drive to take accountability for the whole sale-cycle. This includes the ability to initiate a sales opportunity and a strong track record of winning presentations and converting sales
  • The ability to communicate effectively and knowledgeably with colleagues, prospective clients and consultants is paramount. In this regard, the successful individual will demonstrate candour, empathy, and strong drive for results. A high level of integrity is imperative as is tenacity, persistence and a drive for results
  • Strongly collegiate team player who can partner across other groups, regions and lines of business, while driving a specific sales agenda for UBS Asset Management
  • Strong representative of UBS at client conferences/industry forums
  • Self-motivated and entrepreneurial approach
  • Highest level of integrity and professionalism
  • Degree educated, ideally with a post-graduate qualification; investment management qualification and/or the CFA designation are a plus.
