Job Purpose:

  • The Global Head of Fund Services will be a collaborative leader who can develop a vision for what “great looks like” and create a roadmap to achieve that vision; he/she must have the proven experience and demonstrated ability to deliver on that roadmap and produce results.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive service delivery for Invesco’s global Fund Accounting and Fund Administration capabilities
  • Providing requisite services and leadership (either directly or in an oversight capacity) for applicable Fund Boards and regulators
  • Establishing and cultivating the function’s vision in alignment with the firm’s strategy
  • Setting short and long-term business goals to promote innovation, continuous improvement, and financially sound business practices
  • Building a high performing team of leaders capable of delivering on the needs of the future
  • Implementing and enhancing a technology-enabled, robust, and collaborative (where applicable) oversight model for: NAV production that is TPA agnostic, globally consistent, and locally relevant; Financial/Regulatory Reporting and Funds Tax that is globally consistent and locally relevant; Fund Expenses Administration that is highly automated / digital; and Technology enabled ETF and UIT operations
  • Developing and managing relationships with outside service providers such as fund administrators, auditors, software vendors, information vendors, and financial institutions
  • Leading external business partners to continuously enhance and improve the operating model for responsible functions
  • Develop and implement practices for consistent management and engagement of all GFS employees
  • Develop and implement a global approach to the formulation, oversight, governance, and maintenance of Accounting, Reporting, Treasury, and Tax policy and procedures
  • Drive continuous improvement through the use of technology (e.g., Robotics Process Automation, Workflow Automation, Machine Learning, etc.) and by collaborating with cross-functional teams; provide expertise in best practices that is extensible to other functions across Investment Services, and the enterprise.  Develop and employ operating and production models and rhythm that support global scale along side regional-specific needs, nuances, and regulation
  • Working with local business leaders to understand emerging business and product needs – translating their needs to development and delivery of solutions, with GFS leadership
  • Representing GFS on local management and executive committees, as applicable
  • Overseeing the Global Funds Services budget, inclusive of third party spend
  • Contribute to the Investment Services strategy and its delivery as a member of the executive team

  • Investing in People Daily: 
  • The Global Head of Fund Services will be proficient at attracting, developing, and organizing talent in support of Invesco’s client focus and culture of excellence
  • Responsibilities include (but not limited to):  proactive talent sourcing (i.e., internal, external); providing coaching and guidance to teams; propagating an ‘always learning mindset’; developing and facilitating on the job training; and owning any/all other leadership activities required to provide the team with focus on delivering the highest quality experiences, industry knowledge, product knowledge, and digitally/technology-enabled service delivery and oversight. The leader will bring practices and tools that will support and enhance a dynamic, collaborative, global work environment
  • Ensuring all activities related to the corporate talent cycle (goal setting, development discussions, talent reviews, performance management, and compensation planning) are followed, as well as participation in Investment Services sponsored talent initiatives (i.e., mentoring program, leadership training and programs, career framework, etc.)
  • Working to Create Competitive Advantage:
  • The Global Head of Fund Services will be client focused, be able to anticipate and respond to changing industry trends, and have both market knowledge and a point of view with regard to what excellent fund services look like, particularly as the digital/technological expectations of our client base and strategic partnerships increases
  • Ability to translate thoughts into action is required. This includes experience conceiving and leading programs and projects from planning (including resourcing) through execution. The Global Head will know how to plan and execute with speed and agility. Familiarity with techniques to support speedy execution and continual delivery of business results (e.g., Agile methodology, capabilities-driven planning, design thinking) is required
  • Must stay current on industry and regulatory trends and understand the evolving needs of our clients and partners; established industry relationships are required. Leverages external knowledge to provide input to and develop the Global Fund Services strategy, including thoughts on ways to continuously innovate and improve. The Global Head will constantly and productively question traditional/historical approaches with the intention of further evolving the organization to better meet/exceed client needs
  • Knowledge of incumbent and emerging technology platforms associated with Global Operations, with particular interest in Global Fund Services, is required
  • Continuous and Measurable Improvement:
  • The Global Head of Fund Services is expected to continually think and document differentiated ways for our organization to be, and deliver, better on behalf our clients and business partners
  • Responsibilities include regular review of global and local processes, organization, and systems, determining the optimal solution, then recommending and implementing change
  • Proven familiarity with continuous improvement approaches (e.g., business process design, documentation, management, and optimization); organization design; and use of technology and digitization mediums including automation and workflow tools is essential
  • Ability to quantify impact of a metrics-based approach to leading the business is required
  • Experience managing to balanced scorecard(s) and with metrics design is essential
  • Change management, updates to operating procedures, moving tasks to the right global locations, and working with colleagues in technology and other operations teams to create efficiencies and quality improvements will be required
  • Must remain current on industry, market, and regulatory changes – as well as managing the implementation of associated changes. The Global Head will make sure teams do the same
  • World-Class Execution:
  • The Global Head of Fund Services will have superior, demonstrated execution skills in terms of both ongoing operations and program/project related duties. This will include planning, relationship, and delivery skills
  • Guides inputs into the Global Fund Services operating model to ensure it is aligned with the overall Investment Services strategy and is continually enhanced to support long-term scale
  • Participates actively in applicable global and local committees and councils
  • Knows how to extend the Global Fund Services and overall Investment Services strategies to support both global and local priorities, and to create effective resource alignment, resourcing, and utilization
  • Has experience executing for and at scale. The leader will seek to best use our global footprint (e.g., follow the sun, center of excellence locations) and technology to enable robust operating infrastructure and results
  • Manages internal issues that deal with change, improvements, and client requests when necessary. Requires collaboration, partnership and coordination with various functions across the firm including technology team(s)
  • Regularly reviews internal, regional partners experience with department’s performance and products. Works with various technology groups and external providers to accomplish department objectives
  • Participates actively in applicable committees and councils
  • Manages the department’s budget and expenses. Manages the day to day department activities, ensuring all work is organized and undertaken as effectively as possible. This includes accurate and timely management information.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate for this role will be a seasoned investment operations professional possessing 15+ years of progressive investment management industry experience. He/she must be a highly skilled communicator with demonstrated ability to effectively engage stakeholders across all levels of sophistication, as well as have proven experience leading and motivating a geographically-dispersed team. Specific requirements include:
  • Substantial exposure and experience in a senior level role, preferably in the asset management / servicing industry and multinational firm
  • Proven experience supporting development of a vision through execution and day to day leadership of a dynamic, client-focused organization
  • Proven track record of strong leadership within highly matrixed, global organizations including coordination with geographically separated centers of excellence
  • Experience creating and executing effective change management, leading others through transformational change
  • Broad and deep understanding of technology (e.g., industry platforms, data tools, portals, workflow, automation), digital savvy, and experienced in surfacing technological/digital solutions to solve business issues
  • Proven experience leading, developing, and motivating professional level staff
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal clients to understand their business needs
  • Knowledge of business risk, sound working knowledge of robust operating procedures and control
  • Broad understanding of investment operations, thorough knowledge of institutional and retail businesses with Invesco (or similar) product lines, regulatory issues, systems, and support procedures and controls
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Education to the degree level, or equivalent qualifications, Master’s degree a plus
    License/Registration/Certification: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)
  • CPA, CCA, CA, CMA, or CFA professional designation(s).
