Your Responsibilities:

  • Drive fixed income content strategy, related analytics and index product creation and support, including management of associated baseline data points, such as accrued interest, inclusion/exclusion rules for sub-asset types (sectors), new issuances, rebalance processes, rebalance increments
  • Develop product development strategy, multi-year product roadmap and deliverables. Create detailed business and system requirements large and complex assignments. Lead and plan user acceptance plans and create tests for enhancements and new development
  • Conduct and lead the due diligence process for new opportunities. Position the indexes for all markets and buyer types. Develop proactive strategies to respond to key performance indicators and market evolution forecasts
  • Partner with Operations, Sales, Index Data, Research & Development and external parties – as appropriate, to deliver products as specified
  • Maintain control over project schedule, risks, scope of work and budget; ensures that operational teams and subcontractors have a clear understanding of client requirements
  • Oversee the daily production of calculating the families of Indexes, resolve Index production issues and ensures customer-focused and process driven metrics contribute to positive business performance
  • Performs daily administration of Index process and procedures manuals in accordance with the Index methodologies. Oversees, drafts, prepares and/or publishes Index preliminary related notices and other subject matters through relevant information channels, under supervision
  • Resolve Index calculation process issues, including code alerts, and provides further expertise as necessary
  • Design and ensure accurate calculation of Index products, data production and clear presentation of analytics using defensible statistical methods
  • Monitor calculations and restatement of indexes as required
  • Design system enhancements and downstream data dissemination requirements while also managing the delivery schedule for inclusion in Nasdaq Global Index Calculator and future calculation environments
  • Train and mentor analysts for various tasks and responsibilities
  • Coach and review the work of others in the writing of detailed functional specifications, ensuring they comply with Nasdaq’s policy and processes
  • Manage on going contractual relationships and the operational delivery of services to clients for an account or group of accounts
  • Manages the strategy and planning ensuring that design solutions will exceed KPI’s as defined in relevant calculation development and functionality projects
  • Communicates and explains the software needs of the end users, i.e. in a bid activity or within a project. Is a ‘go to’ person in large bid activities
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of Fixed Income, and related experience such as SDLC
  • Experience in Financial Modeling and Index product development
  • Advanced knowledge of Fixed Income instruments/markets, global markets and ancillary assets, equities and alternatives (FX and commodities)
  • Portfolio Management skills with Fixed Income instruments preferred
  • Collaborative leader with experience managing complex products in large organizations
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to articulate complex concepts, both in written and presentation formats
  • Active listener with a passion to deliver on customer expectations
  • Strong analytics skills with attention to detail
  • Technical skills with database, model creation, some coding experience
  • Highly skilled in data modeling and analytics, with Fixed Income data sources such as Bloomberg, IDC, Thomson Reuters and FactSet; and use of tools such as, Excel, Access, SQL, SAS, Python and R
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • BS or BA in Business/Finance/Economics or related discipline
  • Post graduate degree MBA, and/or CFA preferred.
