GFI and Gatekeeper Activities

  • The primary function is strategic relationship management on key accounts. Key responsibilities include product placement, ensuring product requirements across regional focus lists are met, as well as relationship management, coordination, home office coverage, events etc.

  • Targets will be set against each category

New Business / Product Placement

  • Key responsibilities include product placement, ensuring product requirements across regional focus lists are met. Provide due diligence on investment products to the marketplace for investment by third parties. Including reviewing, recommending and monitoring funds. Responsible for pricing evaluations – tactical and strategic basis.
  • Deliverables
  • # of Standard products newly placed
  • # of Alternative products placed (ETFs, Solutions capabilities, Multi Asset, etc)
  • Increase focus/recommended lists
  • # of joint product developments where new opportunities are created for distribution

Strategically Drive GFI and Gatekeeper Relationships

  • The primary function is strategic relationship management on key accounts. Explore and execute strategic tie-ups and create opportunities (ETFs, subadvised, digital, etc) for joint product development opportunities, marketing campaigns.  Understand service, marketing and communications needs of these organizations. Work strategically to evaluate sales potential of the relationships, what is the global view, what is the profitability potential. Identify opportunities to leverage and expand the relationships with regard to new and changing products and services. Coordinate operational capabilities of the organization: coordinate, and realize synergies between individuals, the global team (where relevant) and the organizational competencies, resolve problems that create cost savings, and develop innovative ways of managing the value creation process.

Leadership, Divisional Reporting & Administration

  • Partner with relevant internal specialists (i.e., Product, Investment management, Client Service, RFP, etc.) throughout FTI to strengthen investment recommendations and with client sales service specialists to provide sales support and service. Educate FT organization to bring better understanding of our client-base. Serves as a resource and discussion partner on thought leadership in the investment space and applicable business space. Work closely with colleagues across Sales organization as well as portfolio investment management groups to build strategy to maximize our market penetration across our investment capabilities. As part of the sales organization, attend industry events and conferences and report back to internal business partners on trends and opportunities.

Deliverables

  • Work with the Americas Leadership to identify and communicate trends (product, market, asset allocation and search etc)
  • Responsible for providing input into the strategic planning initiatives for the Americas as well as the execution of these strategic initiatives
  • Proactively report on current thinking, strategy and trends within the relationships, issues and challenges, and staying current on key account management in the financial services industry.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years’ experience in the investment management industry
  • Experience in sales, business development and/or client relationships required
  • Strong understanding of investment products and market dynamics required
  • Spanish-speaking required
  • Industry designations- CFA, CFP, CLU, FSCI, CIMA, MBA or relevant master’s degree an advantage.
