The ETF Trading Operations Specialist is a key member investment operations team, supporting trade processes, data management, client reporting and portfolio management functions.    The candidate must be process-oriented and organized, with a thorough understanding of middle and back office operations, equity and fixed income trade settlement and reconciliation processes and the ETF ecosystem.  The ideal candidate would help us maintain our core values as we continue to grow the business.

This position requires experience with ETF operations and trading, portfolio reconciliation, external and internal reporting and corporate actions.  This is an innovative, fast paced, high growth sub-advisory firm with multiple ETF service providers, bank counterparties, CCOs, regulators, trading exchanges, etc.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support to PMs, Ops Director, and CCO based in multiple locations.
  • Initiate start-of-day operational processes, including data capture / recon from custodial and FA partners. 
  • Initiate end-of-day communication processes, which include distribution of trade recaps and basket files.
  • Proactively work with bank and broker counterparties to ensure efficient trade settlement involving both ETF creations and redemptions and agency executions.
  • Maintain accuracy of various trading systems for Order Entry, Matching and Settlement Instructions.
  • Collaborate with Director of Invt Ops to produce periodic client and/or management reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and mitigation of trade risk. 
  • Ensure that issues are identified, tracked, reported-on and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Build relationships and work with internal and external colleagues to serve clients and achieve business goals. 
  • Support new business initiatives for the department.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of investment operations, with middle and back office equity trading functions. 
  • Experience with domestic and international trade settlement and reconciliation processes.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office, Bloomberg AIM and portfolio management systems 
  • Excellent Excel knowledge and strong programming skills, including Python, preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize while producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Keen attention to detail.  
  • Ability to discreetly handle confidential data.
  • Ability to make independent judgments as well as take direction from others.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to organize and express thoughts clearly and concisely. 
  • Strong organizational skills and proactive planning, ability to respond to urgent requests.
  • Aptitude and passion for learning new things quickly with a strong work ethic in a dynamic environment.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2 or more years of investment operations experience required.
  • Registered Investment Advisor and ETF experience preferred.
