Job Description

This role will provide an opportunity to join the JPMorgan Corporate & Investment Bank Middle Office (CIB MO) as a Trader’s Assistant.  The candidate will be a key player in on JPMorgan’s ETF trading desk, a rapidly growing, highly strategic, & dynamic product space. A successful candidate will be an ETF subject matter expert and demonstrate in-depth product knowledge to promote development and growth throughout the entire ETF business. Candidates would work closely with senior management, trading and various operational teams on facilitating daily ETF Trading order flow and will also be involved in various key product initiatives.   Additionally, candidates will be exposed to a wide variety of process developments and upcoming industry initiatives.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Responsible for facilitating front to back Operations process of the ETF trade lifecycle, from working with traders on booking through to final settlement.  This includes key elements such as confirmations, settlements, regulatory reporting) and facilitate issue resolution across teams
  • Candidates will be responsible for placing ETF Create-Redeem client orders from both JPMorgan firm traders as well as external Prime Services Clients
  • Supporting clients in JPMorgan’s prime services business in placing unique orders.  Candidates will assist in providing prime with specific order costs, order flow dynamics, and other relevant considerations.
  • Development and deployment of prime client flows – candidates must demonstrate an ability to transition prime flows to STP while providing clear guidance along the entire ETF order lifecycle.
  • Complete intraday / end-of-day processes including completeness and reconciliation checks to ensure capture of new trading activity and general book management has been processed accurately
  • Understand the key elements of other infrastructure groups (i.e. Finance, Market risk, Credit risk, Operational risk, Legal, Collateral etc.) and recognize the impact of the actions of the Trade support team on these areas
  • Facilitation of cross-organizational communication, including real time liaising with multiple business lines and groups to accurately identify real time risk issues; must have the ability work collaboratively, explain, and challenge trading issues as appropriate; support a ‘one team approach’
  • Ensure all controls & reconciliation are diligently performed, completed, and signed-off on a timely basis.  Candidates will also have direct exposure to the P&L functions of the desk by working with the Product Control team
  • Participate and contribute to the various strategic initiatives; keep improving and evolving processes and business architecture

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Economics
  • Strong product and working knowledge of the ETF, Cash Equities, Delta One businesses
  • Knowledge of the ETF product and the mechanics of its trading lifecycle, including but not limited to the overall create redeem business, collateral management, settlements, clearing, reconciliations
  • Ability to manipulate and analyze complex, and large data from varying sources
  • End to end understanding of trade flows
  • Ability to understand risks and their drivers
  • Prior operational and/or line experience
  • Great team player able to work in a pressurized and changing environment
  • Basic accounting knowledge & analytical skills
  • Proficiency in calculating, reporting and analyzing daily trading P&L
  • Self-motivation and demonstration of initiative – flexible and able to assist wherever needed
  • Attention to details and sense of ownership
  • Ability to problem-solve, perform controls, and manage complex project timelines
  • Strong oral and written, interpersonal, & presentation communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; must be able to multitask
  • Strong PC skills specifically excel, word and PowerPoint
