Job Purpose:

  • The ETF Product Manager will be responsible for managing and executing the product requirements of the Mackenzie ETF suite which supports all lines of business including retail, institutional and strategic account management
  • This role will be also be accountable for the integrity of the overall product suite with a focus on product management but will also support new product development initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to idea generation, design and launch of all new ETF products
  • Contribute to the development of an ongoing, proactive product research function that supports the product development strategy
  • Provide industry analysis, competitor reviews, market trends that effectively provide a succinct perspective to key stakeholders relating to product development initiatives
  • Deliver product support and research for other functions (board reporting, management and other sales/marketing support)
  • Assist in the construction of business cases for all new product initiatives including analysis of market demand, competitive landscape, vetted sales projections, pricing strategy and projected profitability
  • Participate in cross-functional teams in executing strategy, overcoming issues and partnering with ETF Team to drive implementation
  • Provide investment support and guidance to relationship management and sales teams across various distribution channels
  • Develop key stakeholder relationships across the organization including business leadership, sales teams, capital markets, investment teams, marketing, legal
  • Leverage client and sales feedback on Mackenzie ETFs to assess the product health and drive ongoing product improvements and positioning
  • Facilitate internal ETF training and/or communications including training on launches, industry trends and ETF competitors
  • Conduct ongoing analysis on competitor ETF assets and flows; performance and non-performance metrics; and product positioning
  • Articulate points of differentiation for Mackenzie products and strategies
  • Supports the business line ETF research agendas to enhance client experience and business results
  • Provide detailed product analysis and recommend new and innovative product development ideas
  • Analyze existing competitor products, competitive product developments and opportunities in both local and global markets
  • Provide guidance and support in the launch of new product marketing tools and collateral.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years relevant work experience with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance or related field is required
  • CFA and/or MBA preferred
  • Familiarity with the Canadian and global ETF markets is an asset
  • Strong investment knowledge of capital markets and asset management
  • Proven relationship management skills, including possessing the skill to manage multiple constituent relationships within the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including excellent communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter who is achievement-oriented, motivated and has proven problem solving skills in a creative development role
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
