Job purpose:

  • As ETF Portfolio Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the team as a Designated Person
  • This role will manage the Irish Investment management governance and oversight activities in order to ensure that the investment management process is properly implemented, documented and monitored for the Irish Fund ranges
  • This role will fulfil the Pre-Controlled Functions (PCF) of Designated Person (DP) for Investment Risk (PCF39) and be responsible for presenting to the CBI (Central Bank of Ireland)
  • This position is located in Ireland, as a member of the newly created Permanent Management Function with regular engagement with the Board, and CBI where required.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Production of Investment Management Board packs and associated management information
  • Regular engagement with the Board and CBI as required; participate as a team member of the Permanent Management Function in Ireland; ensure the responsibilities of a Designated person in charge of the Investment Management oversight for IIML
  • Definition and regular update of Investment Management processes and procedures
  • Ensuring the monitoring of the performance, commentary and management of appropriate challenge and enquiry process when assessing Fund activity
  • Ensure that the investment policies and procedures of the Irish Fund ranges as outlined in the Fund prospectus are being implemented and adhered to
  • Ensure timely transactions are executed, and that voting rights procedures and confirmation of execution and handling of orders procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure the accurate mapping of externally provided Investment Management services to internal processes and teams; reviewing the function in due course to ensure efficient services are provided
  • Work to continue our efforts to automate and integrate tasks
  • Funds oversight utilizing exception reporting, metrics, and current staff
  • Works closely with portfolio management, investment operations for issue resolution
  • Work closely with outsourced accounting, custody and administration teams as well as 3rd part ETF support providers.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Have minimum 8 years’ experience of working in Investment Management within the Financial Services industry, preferably asset management
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulatory standards (particularly CP86 / recent thematic review)
  • Strong knowledge of Irish Fund ranges and regulatory expectations of the Central Bank of Ireland
  • Proven experience presenting to Board members and senior stakeholders
  • Degree or sufficient relevant experience in the area
  • Thrive on taking ownership of the analysis of investment management and will have successfully demonstrated this in a previous role within an asset management firm
  • Be very comfortable with the industry regulatory standards
  • Be willing to enhance your knowledge of the Irish Fund ranges and be confident and capable of ensuring the Investment Management process meeting the regulatory expectations of the Central Bank of Ireland
