What is the EMEA ETF Marketing Team responsible for?

The EMEA ETF Marketing team is embedded within the regional marketing team and strives to support our EMEA ETF strategy to accelerate Franklin Templeton’s (FT) ETF business by engaging investors to invest or remain invested in our ETFs. This is achieved by creating compelling campaigns and stories that bring our products to life through engaging and first-class ETF marketing content aimed at professional investors in the region. The team acts as an ETF advocate and champion both within the region by closely working with the dedicated EMEA ETF Specialist Sales Team, local sales and EMEA Marketing Teams (regional, local, retail and institutional) and through our communications externally.  The team will collaborate closely with global marketing functions as well as other teams and resources that are part of the global ETF platform.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the ETF Marketing Specialist?

  • Collaborate and liaise with key stakeholders, manager and EMEA Marketing teams to develop overall ETF marketing strategy and plans for building and accelerating FT’s ETF business in EMEA; consult and collaborate with EMEA marketing teams & the ETF Specialist Sales to drive ETF sales.
  • Initiate, plan, deliver and measure distinctive and effective multi-channel campaigns to foster deeper engagement between FT’s and prospects and clients regarding ETF investment capabilities, strategies and indexing solutions.
  • Play a key role for regional ETF launch activities in EMEA; collaborate and coordinate across internal marketing teams to develop, manage and implement day 1 marketing deliverables including fact sheets, presentations, promotional web content, emails, etc.
  • Create meaningful client-specific marketing material to fully support clients across channels according to their needs, content and product stories supporting sales, marketing and press activities in partnership with internal teams and external providers (e.g. agencies, index providers etc.).
  • Work on all aspects of key ETF events (external and internal events, conferences, trade fairs, sponsorships).
  • Track competitors, speak and present to trends, best in class, client needs and opportunities
  • Collaborate and liaise with EMEA Marketing teams on client communication and client engagement programs such as regular and ad hoc Marketo mailings and work with the ETF Specialist Sales Team as well as local offices to manage the client distribution lists.
  • Ensure the production of campaign collaterals (print, digital, email, video, topic papers, etc.) and provide master versions for the region.

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful? 

  • Solid experience working in a similar role, preferably within asset management or financial services
  • ETF market, investment concepts and industry knowledge is essential
  • Excellent English – verbal and written communication skills.  Excellent English and German for Frankfurt office.  Other languages an asset
  • University degree or similar, preferably in economics, business, or marketing
  • Key to the role will be a strong knowledge of the ETF sales process (and client buying process), and ability to work in/leverage cross-functional team that addresses target market needs.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industry rules, guidelines, and standards
  • Prior exposure to multiple client types (e.g., Institutional, Retail, etc.) strongly desired
  • Demonstrated track record of success in developing and executing strategic marketing and campaign plans
  • Superior organisational and project management skills, with demonstrated proficiency in establishing and driving complex projects from inception through to completion
  • Effective interpersonal skills, proficiency at prioritization, the ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks, and the ability to operate under tight deadlines
  • Fully proficient with all Microsoft applications, knowledge of Marketo and other internal key systems a plus
