Role Purpose
• This role will provide specialist experience on HSBC Asset Managements Index and ETF range and will be responsible for growing the HSBC ETF and Indexing business in Spain by identifying sales opportunities that address specific needs for our clients in the region.
• Proactively participates in the marketing of the Index and ETF range by working with client proposition team and product specialists for the creation of high quality of sales materials.
• Respond to clients queries, coordinates RFPs and comparison analysis.
Key Accountabilities
• Participating to the growth of the Index and ETF business in the Spain by managing and growing a book of local clients.
• Become a Sales specialist and being able to elaborate USP of our passive fund range and demonstrate them against competitors.
• Work together and collaborate with our main stake holders; passive product and investment specialists, capital market and EMEA Institutional and Wholesale sales.

• Dedicated coverage of the Spanish market, thus providing a more in-depth service to a wider customer based

• Professional investors from Wholesale, Institutional and Retail sectors of the Spanish and Portuguese markets
• AMG functions of product, investments, client strategy, marketing, operations, finance and product development.

Operational Effectiveness & Control
• The job holder will adhere to, and be able to demonstrate adherence to, internal controls and will implement the Group compliance policy by adhering to all relevant processes / procedures as communicated
• This will be achieved by consistently displaying the behaviors that form part of the HSBC Values and culture and adhering to HSBC risk policies and procedures, including notification and escalation of any concerns and taking required action in relation to points raised by audit and/or external regulators
• The job holder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day to day operations. In executing these responsibilities, the Group has adopted risk management and internal control structure referred to as the ‘Three Lines of Defense’. The jobholder should ensure they understand their position within the Three Lines of Defense, and act accordingly in line with operational risk policy, escalating in a timely manner where they are unsure of actions required
• Through the implementation the Global AML, Sanctions and ABC Policies, supporting Guidance, and Line of Business Procedures the jobholder will make informed decisions in accordance with the core principles of HSBC’s Financial Crime Risk Appetite.
• Ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring, addressing areas of concern in conjunction with Risk and relevant line colleagues, and also by ensuring that actions resulting from points raised by internal or external audits, and external regulators, are correctly implemented in a timely fashion
Major Challenges
• Knowledge about passive investments – both ETFs and Index Funds – and the equity and fixed income market.
• Act as an AMG passive fund specialist on client needs and the industry trends.
• Introduce the HSBC passive fund business to external clients by calling attending digital and physical events.
• Strong communication is an important skill – as the role holder should be able to make presentations in writing and in person.
• Build and maintain a high quality of analysis and information on HSBC Index solutions and ETFs.
Management of Risk
• Demonstrates compliance with HSBC Bank plc Group Standards, manuals, policies, and adheres to the defined work practices, internal controls
Observation of Internal Controls
• Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
• Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
• Understand the Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) principles, HSBC Global Asset Management’s TCF philosophy and how this affects your role. Act in a manner that takes account of these principles to ensure fair outcomes for customers
Requirements
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
• A self starter and highly motivated; ability to work individually and within a global team
• Excellent client relationship management skills and sales experience
• Professional qualifications / certifications like a CFA, IMC are a positive but not a pre-requisite
• Understanding how capital markets work and the trading of ETFs would be nice to have but not a must.
• Languages skills would be a plus
• The role will also involve client interaction with the time and the job holder may need to obtain adequate regulatory certifications
