OVERVIEW
ISS ESG is looking for an individual excited about the impact of environmental, social, governance (ESG) consideration on the investor community; someone thriving to become a true subject matter expert on ISS ESG Governance solutions.
You will be part of the ESG Client Success team, but your focus will be exclusively on the governance products for a portfolio of European clients.
You will ensure that the client understands the range of products and use cases available to them; help them solve specific business problems within the Governance products suit; and ensure they are kept abreast of developments in corporate governance.
You will be the main contact person for existing clients, while also providing Data Analytics subject matter expertise to the sales team to help advance and close deals.
You will also play a pivoting role internally by bringing feedback and ideas to help the expansion of the data analytics business internally; in close collaboration with the Data Analytics group. You will be representing the data analytics business for the region.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide subject matter expertise to proactively advise existing clients and ensure a high level of client satisfaction
- Proactively developing and strengthening relationships with ISS Governance Data & Analytics clients to help them understand the range of information and product availability (from board composition to remuneration structures).
- Ensure clients stay engaged with ISS products and help them use ISS ESG products creatively
- Contains in-depth knowledge of products and offerings; provides accurate and appropriate solutions to clients
- Assist clients with developing solutions to complex problems
- Advocate for client needs within the ISS organization
- Collaborate with sales team and colleagues in Client Success to help potential clients understand ISS Data & Analytics and ways that ISS products can help with investment processes (with travel up to 25% possible)
Project management
- Lead the management of projects relevant to specific clients (New implementation, upgrade, ad hoc project, etc.)
- Contribute and collaborate to internal initiatives to improve the scalability of the data analytics business
Sales Collaboration
- Provide ESG subject matter expertise to the Sales team to help them advance and close deals
- Contribute to the regional team’s New Sales goals by identifying potential leads within the existing client base
- Participate in ESG related roadshows, meetings, and calls as needed
- Contribute to meeting follow-ups (in coordination with Sales)
- Collaborate with Sales and the RFP team in providing ESG subject matter expertise in the completion of RFPs
- Provide direction to the sales team on services that are trending across clients
- Provide sales with relevant product updates and related commercial opportunities
- Share updates on product enhancements and new capabilities with clients
- Discuss new project ideas and potential upselling opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS
Mandatory
- Bachelor’s degree as a must
- 5+ years’ work experience working with investment/ financial services professionals, particularly portfolio managers and analysts, is appreciated
- Track record of success in client facing roles such as client service and/or sales
- Ability to understand key client needs, with a commercial orientation that helps identify sales opportunities
- Experience in working successfully with internal IT, research, product, and operational teams to meet client objectives
- Experience in analyzing data and understanding its underlying research methodology
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new content, and learn new ESG products
- Strong project management/organizational/multi-tasking skills required
- Proficient in Excel

- Interest in developing technical ability to independently work with data & analytics
- Ability to develop an internal network of cross-discipline experts and resources
